Gillispies apparent demise at UK doesn't directly have to do with his team's W/L results...but it's definitely not helping the situation. Billy has some other issues that have sped up his time table.

Come on, Ashock -- the obvious choice is the one and only Steeeeeve Eck! Let's hear it for him!

Long shot, indeed. King of the half-court hook shot in his day, if I've heard correctly.
Very true. Well into his old age.

The "other issues" variable is always a mofo for administrators but could also save them some cash if his contract is well worded for UK.

As far as the coaching fallout of bygone years, I wish MT all the best and am grateful for the experiences his staff & players provided. Although I coulda done without the killer airfares to NC & DC. The Vegas team trip was nice also inspite of the implosion. MT got my beloved alma mater back on the national radar and I hope for MTs sake the Spin delivers at A&M where he did not here. Marshall will do the same.

I can`t see Donovan leaving Florida with the chance to add more trophies plus his juicy contract:

Donovan re-signed with the Gators on June 7, 2007, with a deal that makes him the highest-paid coach in college basketball, at $3.5-million per year.

My buds in Texas, who write big checks, tell me there is an ill wind blowing in College Station.

I have no detail, but I have been told that the unhappiness is growing.

I am somewhat surprised because A&M is a football school and usually basketball is not considered a high priority with the folks, who write checks.

I suspect the tournament appearance helped Coach Turgeon's situation.
