    Whew!

Glad you're back among the living, Shockerman. It always helps to see that the sun does indeed come up in the east the next morning.

Personally, I was surprised that UNI made it to the tournament at all, and I don't think they were the Valley's best representative. But the game ended up close enough that they really were not, shall we say, boatraced. (And, by the way, I still have no clue where that term came from, other than our esteemed friend KC).

To be beaten very badly at something, especially in such a fashion that you were behind from the start and never had a chance. Comes from the Boat Race, an annual rowing competition between Oxford and Cambridge, in which the first side to get ahead can move to the middle of the river (where the current is fastest) and is almost never overtaken thereafter.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

        Okay

Thanks for the research, Spangler. KC was just too erudite for me, with his fancy British university reference.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fact that the seeding UNI received directly relates to the opinion the selection committee has of the entire MVC. So a team wins the Conference during season play, wins the Conference Tournament, and gets a 12 seed? And no at-large bids are given to the rest of the conference.

By giving UNI the 12 seed, they practically shat all over the MVC saying "Your conference is mediocre, and we are seeding you appropriately to lose."

A 9 or 10 seed was more deserving of the Panthers.

The conference was mediocre this year and its performance supports the notion.

I struggle with the idea that UNI is among the top 40 teams in the nation.

In fact, I struggle with the idea that UNI is among the top 48 teams in the nation.
