This one looks to be tougher than the Buffalo cake walk we got tonight. Finished 9th in the pac-10, however has some impressive victories and margin of victories. Our shared opponents are Texas Tech and Northern Arizona. They beat TTU 111-66... :shock: ....they also beat NAU as we did 66-57, we won by 5 against the Lumberjacks. Have a win over Arizona, also beat Washington State, Arizona State, and USC.

Have three averaging in double figures. Two of them guards. Anthony Goods, guard, averaging 16 ppg, shoots 39% from three and takes about 5 or 6 of them a game at least. Lawrence Hill is the forward..6-8..13ppg..shoots some threes. And Landry Fields, guard, 12.7 ppg has him listed at guard although he is 6-7? shoots 35% from three.

How is the Pac 10 as a defensive league?

They will be too athletic for us. The 'X' factor - is the crowd. If we can get 10K+ at the game, I believe we will have a chance. Otherwise, I'm seeing a .500 finish.

PAC 10 - not known to be a strong defensive minded conference, Stanford, the 9th place team still averages 74 points per game. But, everytime I've seen the Shox play a BCS team in recent memory, they don't seem used to our style of defensive play and don't score their team average in points.

Lastly, Stanford is 4-8 on the road this year. They did beat AZ State on the road this year however.

It's pretty clear that these guys are fairly tall and jack up the 3-ball a lot (38% as a team).

I think we have the length (except at PG) to contest a lot of those shots. Inside JT and Ramon match up pretty well size wise with their forwards, so it'll be interesting there.

I think we can tear them up on the boards, if their 3-balls don't cause too many long rebounds. The long boards let Buffalo get a few too many offensive rebounds; let's see if Marshall makes an adjustment there.

There are a lot of guards listed on their roster, and the ESPN (which may be inaccurate) starter list shows four guards... including one that is 6' 7". I wager Durley gets this assignment, as he's a better jump shot blocker than Clemente.

Should be a more hotly contested game, but with a few thousand Chuckleheads roaring for the Shox... I think we'll get our 10th straight in the Roundhouse.

Not to mention a near miss at one of the toughest places to play in the nation, the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

Many things are deceiving. Arizona St. is one of the most inconsistent teams in the NCAA tournament, and I was there the night Stanford beat Arizona St.

They have a few shooters, but apparently, they had a great night (kept killing any run ASU had with a constant made jumper here or there) while Arizona St. didn't want to be there, think ahead to the next week and beyond (they hit 2 3's, their bread and butter, and missed between 5-10 point blank baskets). Don't take too much stock on that win, as Arizona St. also beat them by 30 in Stanford (if memory serves me right). Arizona also stunk at the time Stanford beat them.

Look at their performance vs. Oregon St. and Washington St., two teams potentially comparable to Wichita St. Both were at least .500 against Stanford, both winning at home. And Wichita St. has had a great home court advantage this season, so I would figure any sort of a good game out of the Shocks and this is a victory.

At tip-off about 500 people were in the stands at Maples Pavilion, which seats 7,329, and by the end of the first half, the crowd had grown to approximately 900. Official attendance for the game was listed as 1,243.
