Cold is down on the world at the moment and I must confess to being mildly concerned about his mental state. Look at his posts here and on Valley Talk during our "cinderella" run and tell me something hasn't changed.
Go Shocks!!!!
That's a pretty big disingenuous statement. If you really were concerned you wouldn't be mocking.
I can assure you all is well on CB's planet.

I have to ask Cold, "Exactly what planet are you on?"
A planet that revolves closer to the sun (see light) than you. :good:
The CBI is not a reward. It is a very discouraging milestone.
Disagree. The '06-'07 and '07-'08 seasons were discouraging milestones. '06-'07 for exposing how much more Paul Miller had to do with our success than Coach T and our four returning starters. Last season knowing that we were quite nearly starting from the ground up, as if we just added basketball. This season things are much improved and we'll be playing in some kind of tournament. I think that's an encouraging milestone.
If we're playing in the CBI next year, that will be a discouraging milestone.
Oh I get it now. Thanks for clearing it up for me. A second CBI would be the bad news...
Isn't there a midmajor playing in the tournament this year that was just recently moved up to D1 status? I wonder what their athletic budget is?
Do you think we WANT to be in the CBI? This has been beaten to death already.
Is this better than last year, when we were doing absolutely NOTHING?
I agree with DUShock. You're starting to lose it..
Wayyyy too much excitement over our "bid" on this forum...
It's nothing more than the sad progression of what once was a proud fanbase to what it is evolving to. A new generation of fans that actually breath a sigh of relief when their name pops up in the CBI.
There was a day when we would turn this "bid" down...
Oh well, "us mids gotta get what we can".. !!!111

We were picked 9th in the Valley. I wasn't even expecting 12 wins this year. It's an encouraging pickup for us. Compared to what the last two years has brought us, it is pretty exciting actually. Am I excited because it's the CBI? NOOOOOOO.
If we were the 'power' that you say we are, we wouldn't be having seasons like the last two before this one.
Interesting though that you show up for the first time in a week on a night we're supposed to see who we play. I think Mr. Cold has some interest.. Nah.. just a strange coincidence, right?
Make sure you remember your stance *if* you show up on Wednesday night.. Don't cheer for the team because that wouldn't make any sense to your whole argument.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Here's a thought, how about being happy that we get to see an encore of Ramon and Co. Anyone else happy they get to watch at least one more Shocker game, a home game at that? How about being happy that our young guys get some post-season experience?
Anyone wants to gripe about being in the CBI can give me their seats. I've got people who'll fill 'em, and be loud about it too.
Next year, Dance. This year, practice. Practice makes perfect.
why would you ever turn a bid down to play longer?
Because by doing that....by golly....we would show 'em that WSU ain't no mid-major. We are above that. We are the MIGHTY WICHITA STATE...EVERYONE WILL TREMBLE WHEN WE WALK ON THE COURT AND BOW IN OUR PRESENCE......
isn't that right cold?
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

I usually agree with you, but no, you don't get it. Four and five game losing streaks in '06-'07 was the time for meltdown. Last year's NAIA worthy squad was time for nuclear holocaust. You're acting like you haven't seen what's happened in the last three years. Am I excited to be here? No. Is this where any of us thought we'd be after the Sweet Sixteen run and top ten beginning to '06-'07? No. But we did crap all over ourselves in '06-'07. We were BRUTAL last year. So unless you Rip Van Winkled the past three seasons, I'm not sure where you're coming from.

Now THAT's a discouraging milestone.
I wasn't even expecting 12 wins this year.
And that attitude is a cancer in our fanbase.
Compared to what the last two years has brought us, it is actually pretty exciting actually.
FAAAAAAAANTASTIC!
Comparatively this year is exciting because it hasn't sucked as much as previous years.

Now there you go.. Get back to that mocking routine you love when a fan actually has dreams, goals, AND EXPECTATIONS for this program.

Actually I perused Shockernet to find out if the BJ's made the NCAA's or not. It's sad that I found my information here.. on BJ Cafe #2...

Watching the behavior on this board necessitated some scolding from CB. This is becoming a mid-major bunch more and more each day.
