Shockers in CBI

The CBI site only mentions that there is "seeding" for the final home-away-home series. They may seed in the semis, but it doesn't say that.

I just looked up the attendance for the other schools that could possibly make it to the semis - and it looked like 3500 was the most sold for any of the teams (3500 was oregon st.).

I think they have probably changed their brackets to say Wichita $tate now. It wasn't just coincidental that they counted the provisional D-1 team as a win to make WSU eligible for their tourney.

WSU will make alot and the CBI actually has a chance to make money as well with them hosting games. So the tourney needs to just keep cheering for WSU to win.

I would like to see evidence that we split the gate. I've not seen that mentioned besides speculation.

Regarding hosting, they will reseed the tournament at the semifinals. For the championship series, the higher seed hosts the first game.

I was unable to confirm what I believe to be correct but I will attempt again tomorrow.

1)Each game costs $50-$60k

2)Any ticket revenue in excess of the promised amount is split with the visiting team.

3)After the next round (the final 4 if you will) they will seed 1, 2, 3, 4 with the team most willing to go on the road doing just that. It is my understanding that even Stanford, with bottomless funds, was none too happy about losing money last night.

4)IF, let me repeat, IF we win Monday, I am 99.50% certain we will host a semi final game. In fact, I'll say this......We will play no more than 1 game (the 2nd of a best of 3 final series) away from the Chuck until next November.

From talking to someone in the athletic dept today we split the gate 50/50. If the gate was $134,000 last night, we keep $67,000. The CBI gets $7,000 more than the $60,000 we guaranteed. I am pretty sure the $60,000 guarntey is for each game.

Actually this tourney didn't "require" teams to have a winning record to compete as you can see about Oregon St. It's the CIT that required the winning record and they had said they would count the non-div 1 win so that we would be ellidgible.
