CU student here

WOW! "Matt P"...whoever that is said 5k were there. That's really grasping at numbers there. The Scottrade Center holds around 20k for basketball. There was NO chance at all that 1/4 of that arena was full of CU fans, not even close. I was there and was impressed by your school's showing because it was the most CU fans I've seen in St Louis and even made an effort to guess how many were there. 3k is probably even pushing it. Creighton had 1600 presales, my guess would be maybe 500 - 800 students were there not counted in that number. Plus let's add maybe 300 more people who bought tickets late. Total was probably around 2500 - 3000.

However, WSU only had 650 in presales, maybe 150 students (including the band :( ) maybe 200 in late sales. Not hardly the numbers we'd like to see, but close to 1000. Maybe we can break our own record next year, but I think it's safe for now.

I once went onto the BlueJay cafe and tried to start a discussion. The reception was about the same as what you are receiving now. Best of luck to CU next year.

I've never signed up or posted, however I've read a few times. I found it interesting that recently I saw a few posts over there saying the way we lost couldn't have happened to a worse fan base. Maybe they should look in the mirror the next time they are flipping off little kids. At least they are now admitting the way we lost was bad...since we were screwed.

I would like to think that when CU lost those rude punk *** fans felt some pain and despair. But if you are a true fan and have any respect for the game you would not be drunk as hell getting tossed out on your ***. You wouldn't be flipping off children of opposing teams or being and all around b**ch. They probably don't care as much as you do, they are just there to have a good time for themselves. I would not let people like that get under your skin too much. Just remember that they will most likely be stabbed or beaten to death outside of an Omaha bar in the future. It doesn't take long for people like that to get theirs.

I attended the Shox game at the Qwest, and the fans treated us very well with a lot of compliments for WSU and the great Shocker fans. Dana seems to be struggling of late. I think more is expected of him in Omaha as the senior coach in the Valley. I think he also knows Gregg is going to bring it and not play nice politics with the guy.

I've always respected Altman and what he's done at CU. I still do, but he dropped a notch. I understand being frustrated with your team for giving away that lead, but the king of coach-speak should have at least tossed out a compulsory nod to the Shocks for completely dismantling his team near the end.

Shocker fans let's not forget the comments & insane comments made on this very board and even observed at games by our students and bandwagon fans during our previous success. I readily admit to being embarrassed and have even apologized to a couple of folks for the unnecessary vitriol thrown at them. These folks were very well behaved. If you travel to an away game (not a neutral site) you'll begin to understand respect for the traveling teams fan base is an opportunity to market your university and "class" to people who are spending their time and money in our community.

I remember as a student how we treated Nolan Richardson, but of course he deserved it. Without CU this would be a very boring conference.

By the way, to any students out there. A nice simple rude chant toward the king of coaches during every dead ball would be a nice way of showing our respect towards DA next year when they arrive at the Chuck.

Before you all hang me, hear me out. We as shocker fans don't have much to say about other fans. We, I am as wild as it gets. CU and us are the two best programs in the conf. Because of fan base and love for our teams. With that said, we both will be out for blood forever. Untill another team sales tickets like we do there will not be another hated duel! Now lets start the beat the crap out of sCUm thread next year!!!!!!!
