  • 26 wins in the Valley

As much as I loath Creighton, if they don't make the Big Dance, what does this say about the Valley. The Cinderallas are slowly being squezzed from the dance. The Valley needs to do something in order to compete with the big boys.

I know if the Shox had:
    26 wins
11 game winning streak before yesterday
    Co-Conference Champions
    39 RPI

I'd be a little PO'ed if we didn't get in.
    Thoughts anyone.

..... For all the Creighton Bashers, this resume could apply to anyone in the Valley.

My first thought is they only have 25 wins.

I dunno...what is their record vs the top 50. If it's a losing record then I would say that burst their bubble as what you have posted has them teetering.

He did not mention one Top 10 RPI league team that has ever been left out.

Creighton is 1-0 against the top 50 and 1-2 against Wichita State.

I vote they better get a bid, it would be a slap in our MVC face if they dont. We (MVC) need multi bids! If not then everyone will start expecting the MVC to be a 1 bid conf.

As painful as it sounds we need CU to get in. Its better for us in the long run and on the national stage.

History is not equal to present day. What we need is to beat good teams when we play them. We don't need anything from CU. What we deserve is an apology.

CU getting in does nothing for us. In fact all it will do is fuel the fire that middies don't deserve to get in. They were 1-0 against the top 50....schedule harder and prove yourself.

They are a really good NIT team, not an at large NCAA team. They should have won the Valley tournament but instead became the first team to lose 2 games in St Louis in 1 year.

You used Cinderella and Creighton in the same topic therfore this thread is highly irrelevant.

If Creighton made it to the tournament and won they wouldnt be considered a cinderella team considiring they arent that bad of a team this year.

Now a team like Cornell? thats a cinderella.

I'm with you on this. Plus a team can't lose to WSU 2 times in 1 year and still get in can they? hehe.... :D

I think its appalling how the "experts" are evaluating teams this year...even among the BCS:

Maryland is 18-12, 7-9, 56 RPI and is supposedly ahead of K-State who is 21-10, 9-7, 77 RPI.

They are predicting a 13 loss team from the Big East to get in.

They think there are 8 deserving teams from the Big 10.

IF the NCAA tournament becomes like the BCS, and deserving teams that did all they could are overlooked for teams that underachieved greatly but are perceived to be better due to the ability to pull out a couple wins over conference opponents, then it will represent the continued deterioration of what the NCAA was supposed to represent and protect. It is supposed to protect "AMATEUR" athletes from the influence of outside money....

It, like so many things I used to love, will have been ruined over greed.

If CU is worthy then why not ISU red if they lose today?

They have 24 wins and 2 blow out wins vs CU. I say if UNI wins today maybe ISU red for at large otherwise no.

There is NO WAY any team with a losing conference record should be considered for an at-large bid. ACC, BE,.. or any other conference affiliation should make no differnce.

CU, IllSU and Northern all should go. Three bid conference. Maryland...ridiculous... but someone at the NCAA might be trying to save Dr. Gary's job for him.
