This year the hoax won. Next year when the MVC throws the flaming bag of poo that is Creighton on our front porch we will not be stunned. We will not be shaken. We will not worry about getting our shoes dirty or burned in the act of putting out the fire. We will simply get the job done and stomp the living crap out of the PooJays.

AND I plan on being there to help!!!!!!!!
For some the glass is half full and for others half empty. My glass is out of ice.

We were a rebound away from winning the game. We hold onto the rebound, dive for the ball and swat in back into the court and an all out scrum ensues - we win.

We made a great comeback and lost on our own accord. If the roles were reversed, I know many a WSU fan would be acting just as classless as some of the CU fans so don't throw stones.

Here is a novel idea, if you really want to get back at CU, then how about we start winning against them instead of being owned by them the past 15 years.
Now, is not the time to be a sCUm apologist.

In a few days maybe, but not NOW.
What are you talking about Fever. I despise CU just as much as the next Shocker but seriously, all of us resigned ourselves to the fact when we were down by 20+ that we were going to lose.

CU outplayed us for 36 minutes. All of a sudden we Shocker fans are going to blame 1.9 seconds and the clock operator for the loss. Yeah, this loss stings badly, but if we are going to get bent out of shape on something, it should be about not holding onto the game winning rebound. Had we, game over.

That is what stings the most, the win was in our hands and it was fumbled out of bounds. CU and the clock operator did not make us fumble the ball away. Just sayin'.
I agree about Clevin. It was definitely ours. But you'd think sCUm fans wouldn't want a win based on an extra amount of time given to them. At least, I would hope not..

I know if we were in their situation, I wouldn't want a win based on something that shouldn't have been. I can say that with a straight face.

Sure, we missed opportunities before. But there's no denying that that was a key moment in the game.

You don't need to appease all the sCUm lurkers out there just to keep your image intact. If you're a true Shocker fan, you're pissed at the whole situation, the whole sCUmbag fanbase, and the sCUmbag coach.
My image? Hardly. I am pissed, about Clevin not holding onto the damn ball. Regarding CU fans, what do you expect from the fanbase of our most hated rival in the Valley. It comes with the territory.

All this complaining however just comes across as sour grapes from a fanbase who has had to watch their rival in basketball own them for the past 15 years. I for one am not going to give CU fans the pleasure. I will sit back and wait for HCGM turn this program around and hopefully watch the Shox be next in line as the predominant power in the Valley in basketball.

I'm right with you here for perhaps the first time ever.

I don't like reading all the whining and crying on here. Wichita State needs to start realizing its destiny and stop whining about others always causing us to come up short. We have the resources to dominate this silly conference and it's time to start making it happen.

Our coach, players, and program failed my expectations of a .500 conference record this year. If it wasn't for the "miraculous" change in our season after the SWOMO game, we would have had a disaster of a year. The problem with our team this year was not talent or youth, like most on her stated, it was motivation. That was on GG. You don't "grow" overnight. Of course we were young, but up until the SWOMO game we showed little improvement (or "growth). In fact it appeared as though we were regressing. Then all of a sudden the players "get it"? The players should have "got it" at the start of the season and through continual growth, experience, and practice, should have gradually improved as the season progressed. If that would have been the case we would have ended up with a .500 record and perhaps had a better seed in the tourney. I don't know if we would have won more games in St. Louis though.

We are playing at a very high level now and right where I would expect us to be. I'm not upset about our level of play now, I'm upset over our complete absence from anything resembling a competent, focused, and motivated basketball club for most of the first part of the season and during most of our road games.

Next year the bar is raised to 12-6 in conference play. There is no reason why we cannot achieve that goal. ANYTHING near a .500 season in Valley play next year will be considered a TOTAL failure by me.

It's time to stop whining and start doing. I am sick and tired of WSU not performing to its potential. This has been the case for most of my adult life.

I expect us to be much improved next year but I expect every team in the Valley to be much improved.

I think the difference next year will be a few more conference road wins, perfect at home and a winning non-conference records against some tough BCS teams...Texas Tech, TCU, LSU to name a few.

I expect the Valley's RPI to be in the low 30's for four to five teams and I expect the conference to be rated in the top six to eight.

Conference wins will not come easy though...we will be required to show up every night.
