  • This one hurt bad folks

I know that isn't exactly breaking news, but nevertheless this one really, really took a toll on the people that matter.

May I suggest, if you enjoyed the product and appreciated the effort, that you make some kind of effort to show that appreciation to the staff sometime in the next week.

They are hurting....let them know we care.

I know its hard for them but hopefully they'll look back a year in the past and realize how far they've come. They were a rebound and/or a clock error away from making an unheard of comeback at a place where CU has owned since its been in STL. There is nothing for this group to hang their head about. Next year is going to be fun. Ramon and Mantas we'll miss you. When I see Marshall at the golf tourney I will be sure to let him know he is doing an excellent job and the future is BRIGHT!

A good place to start is on Marshall's radio show next Monday. Show up at Applebee's and rock that house for our coach as I'm sure he is taking this pretty hard.

I've never seen a team come back like that with their backs up against the wall. It was amazing to see them get to the position of actually winning the game.

Ramon, if it wasn't for you, we'd be half of what we are today. This program will rise because of you and others' efforts tonight.

What a freaking gutty effort. This will all be a distant memory down the road.

I don't know at what point I can buy Ramon a beer and not violate some NCAA rule but when I can, I will. Whatever we accomplish in the future under HCGM will be built on that man's heart. I hope Blair, et al. will take away everything he has shown this season (INCLUDING GETTING BETTER AT THE LINE!)

If I can get away for Applebees on Monday, I'm there.

My hat is off to Ramon and his 11 rebounds and 8 points. He will be forever remembered as a true warrior. Durley sucked it up the 2nd half and ended up scoring 17. Hatch had a banner game. Toure' made another big shot. Coach Marshall will indeed come back all the more determined next Season to right this ship. HCGM is a fighter and our ongoing improvement will overcome several woes that have haunted us since Vegas. We have the ideal Coach and am very encouraged with him and his Coaching Staff.

Yes, this loss is a slow burn. However, I am proud of our Shock's comeback last night. The Jay's and their fans thought they had this game in the bag and fell asleep with contentment. Thus, the Shocks, instead of puckering up and quitting, came back with a gallant comeback. The #9 free-throw shooting team in the nation was only 10-17 and opened the floodgates with their unusual misses under pressure. Then it came down to "fumble, dribble, dribble,(a thousand 1 a thousand 2-- a thousand 3 a thousand 4 or not?) and the Woodfox basket---all in 1.9 seconds. Then we are all told that what we really saw (fumble, dribble, dribble, shoot) was legitimate? Yeal---right. Whatever!!! I hope somebody on the news this weekend proves this on the tube in 'slow-mo fashion' for us to decide, because I am still numb and need to see this ending for myself. Our young-guns will never forget this and march back next Season with a winning mentality on a mission that we will enjoy, especially in March.

I don't know how many times I can replay the end of that game in my head. It's killing me and I am so proud of our team! It's still a Great Day To Be A Shocker :wsu_posters:
The future looks so bright for us and I know we will only get better. We will have our chance and I can't wait to be there and watch it all unfold. We have nothing to be ashamed of with this game. It's not a "if only we could have done this or that in the first half". Bottom line here is that we fought back and we fought back hard. Unfortunately the good guys didn't come out ahead on this one. I'm proud of our team and coaching staff. They represent WSU very respectfully. As for the sCUm fans, they will get put in their place some day and we Shocker Fans will be there to witness it first hand. One aspect of Creighton that bothers me the most is that they are suppose to be representing a Catholic University where I see NO Christian attributes exhibited AT ALL EVER. They shoud be ashamed of themselves. Again I say.......It's A Great Day To Be A Shocker :posterwsu: :goshocks:

I sent a message over to ramon.

I let him know it was hot doo doo what happened and next year we are burning down both houses when it comes game time.

and then promptly thanked him and wished him the best wishes.

I've only recently started posting on this forum although I've been an avid fan for many many years. I hope that anyone that has the opportunity to see Ramon face-to-face expresses gratitude on behalf of all those that have enjoyed watching this fierce warrior come into his own and become a Shocker that we are all so very proud of. He will definitely be missed and here's hoping he always considers Wichita his home. Thanks Ramon!! :poster_ramon:

Quit whining about the clock operator, Creighton fans and whatever else you want to point the finger at in losing this game.

We were a rebound away from winning the game. We hold onto the rebound, dive for the ball and swat in back into the court and an all out scrum ensues - we win.

We made a great comeback and lost on our own accord. If the roles were reversed, I know many a WSU fan would be acting just as classless as some of the CU fans so don't throw stones.

Here is a novel idea, if you really want to get back at CU, then how about we start winning against them instead of being owned by them the past 15 years.

Now, is not the time to be a sCUm apologist.

In a few days maybe, but not NOW.

What are you talking about Fever. I despise CU just as much as the next Shocker but seriously, all of us resigned ourselves to the fact when we were down by 20+ that we were going to lose.

CU outplayed us for 36 minutes. All of a sudden we Shocker fans are going to blame 1.9 seconds and the clock operator for the loss. Yeah, this loss stings badly, but if we are going to get bent out of shape on something, it should be about not holding onto the game winning rebound. Had we, game over.

That is what stings the most, the win was in our hands and it was fumbled out of bounds. CU and the clock operator did not make us fumble the ball away. Just sayin'.

I agree about Clevin. It was definitely ours. But you'd think sCUm fans wouldn't want a win based on an extra amount of time given to them. At least, I would hope not..

I know if we were in their situation, I wouldn't want a win based on something that shouldn't have been. I can say that with a straight face.

Sure, we missed opportunities before. But there's no denying that that was a key moment in the game.

You don't need to appease all the sCUm lurkers out there just to keep your image intact. If you're a true Shocker fan, you're pissed at the whole situation, the whole sCUmbag fanbase, and the sCUmbag coach.
