FYI: Next time someone says I need to root or pull or cheer for CU because a CU win is good for the Valley, I'll remember tonight and then say naughty words and make faces back to whoever says this.

As far as I am concerned, if CU dances they can partake in the most lopsided loss in NCAA tourney history.

      I'm so down with that.

I'll root for any Valley team in anything else but sCUm. With their sCUmmy coach, garbage fans, and rainbow city, tonight finally did me in.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

Here's my experience with obnoxious fans while traveling on the road & at neutral sites, the alumni are cool/respectable/gracious because they, like many of us, travel to see their beloved alma maters and know what it's like to be rubbed wrong by obnoxious fans. The obnoxious fans are 9 out of 10 times students & newly papered 20-somethings or worst of all bandwagoners with more time and/or money than sense. Also many alumni are simply trying to enjoy some family time and if it's post-season are having work remotely while traveling and following their teams, which does suck but beats not making the trip at all.

My two cents of experience. (Sorry for any typos or grammar errors I'm typing from my crackberry while waiting for a table at the good egg.)

I certainly wouldn't be thrilled by idiot drunks flipping off my family. (That is what the unlawws are for.)

But I would be disappointed in my very young grade school daughter if she allowed such idiotic gestures to reduce her to tears.

Thanks to the coaching staff for getting is into this game. I hope our team uses this as a springboard to great success.
To consider Creighton a future rival grants them too much respect. I would rather just regard them as two WSU victories a year on our way to out classing this league.

Count me a group of parents, perhaps only 1 large, that is NOT dissappointed in my grade school daughter.

I know that deep down she was upset WSU lost and watching fans of the other side cheer against WSU and "rub it in" was just a bit too much for a 9 year old to take. Fortunately she cannot grasp the meaning of that gesture, only that it isn't nice.

That it bothered her so much had much more to do with the fact that she knows and cares for many of the players. They are important to her. I don't think anyone should have to apologize for caring.

If I didn't care, I'd watch typing. I care, my daughter cares, my coach cares. It was a tough night for all of us.

Just talked to my parents who are on their way home and they too said they endured obscene gestures from the CU fans the whole game, until WSU made their comeback. My dad said "I think this is a Catholic school?" and my mom was even more shocked. Really a shame and I hope we start sticking it to CU for years to come but show them how to do it with class.

It was a show watching the arena enforcement haul out creightons fools from the student section - one after another. But it was priceless watching the guttless student section as we chopped up their basketball team in the last 10 mins. You could hear "CU" students throwing up in the student section when the SHOX went ahead with 9 seconds on the clock.
                      GO SHOX!

:yahoo: way 2 go Redbirds now maybe I can sleep tonight. We're at the Hilton and I asked our boys (7 & 10) if they'd rather go swim or walk down and watch the Creighton fans leaving the game they said "go watch the cu fans" I however decided it would be better 2 keep them away from the drunk angry scum --- so we're @ the pool.

Creighton fans have always been this way, you just have to block it out. They were just amplified last night because of the finish.

They just don't know what class is--at least the students don't. We were walking back behind a group of about ten CU students, they were celebrating. But, they were not out of control except for one guy. Screaming down the street he said,

We were the ones that didn't quit. I was thinking the worst with twelve minutes we were down twenty and we were falling even farther behind. Marshall did something during the second media timeout that got the team going. I was proud of them showing up the Creighton fans on tv that seventh seeded team in the tournament almost beat Elgin's heroes.

This same fan kept his rant going,

THEY CAN'T BEAT US, NO ONE CAN BEAT US. WOOH. YEAH, WE ARE GOING TO HIT THE PIPE TONIGHT!
Creighton is supposed to be a private catholic school. I don't think catholics flip fans off immediately after they win or "hit the pipe". I really don't think P'allen is a catholic person with his egocentric attitude and crying to Dana when he gets fouled. That goes for the rest of the thugs that Altman recruits.

I wish I could hate Creighton more but I can't.

This one is going to sting for a while. I really feel for Ramon, I was a little disappointed in his defensive play that few games. But, no one should go out like that. I really doubt we will have any postseason this year.

One thing I was really impressed with was Marshall. He lives up to the his track record in conference tournaments. He took a very young team and almost beat the number two seed at their "second home court".

963, you were by that guy too? He followed us on our way over to the Union Station.. we were obviously annoyed and angry but got a laugh out of his stupidity.

In reality, our team was the one that never quit at ALL this season. 8)

I've been going to St. Louis for years, this was by far the worst experience in terms of how fans of the opposing team acted. UNI talked a lot of crap when we lost a few years ago, I could handle it because it wasn't out of hand. BU fans weren't too bad when they beat us. SIU got in some good shots on us too, made me angry, but nothing like this year. All I can say is "WOW" when attempting to describe CU fans. I saw their fans using more foul language than I knew existed... towards KIDS!....Yes, CU fans were cussing at children. We did our best to avoid them after the game, 80% of them had a smartass remark or wanted to just flip people off. I kind of got pushed over the edge and am embarrassed to say while walking out of the arena with my wife and friends, some CU girls had "GO CU" signs and were putting them as close as possible to our faces as we walked by and said "How do you like that bi$%es"...I grabbed her sign, ripped it in half wadded it up and tossed it back to her. I'm not happy about my reaction, but at least it shut her up. I wish I had hung around for today's game and worn a Redbirds shirt and had a little fun myself... I did get my revenge on a few at the poker table as I wiped out 2 CU fans in one hand. The other CU guy who played at my table with got wiped out by someone else. I guess winning the game didn't equal winnings at the poker table.
