  • Durley not on the Most Improved Team was such a travesty that was proven out tonight. Did Spoonbill or Mitch say anything about that snub?
Because Denny Crane says so Dammit!

    • Final: CU 63, WSU 62. Here’s the explanation from MVC commissioner Doug Elgin. The officials, using a stopwatch, determined the clock started around .4 seconds late. They also determined Woodfox’s shot would have beaten the buzzer even if the clock started on time.

“We looked at in the truck and it was clear to us the shot left the shooter’s hand between 1.0 and 0.9 left,” Elgin said. “We took a stopwatch to the inbounding of the ball from the time the ball was touched to the time the clock started. The clock clearly started late, there’s no doubt about that. We determined there was at least 0.4 differential between the end of the game and when the shot left the hand. The shot was before the expiration of time (had the clock started properly).”
Now that's a BS cop out if I've ever heard one.

At least have the common courtesy to give us a reach around Dougie.

      • Disappointed in Spoon. Classy guy, but time to hang it up. They were not very good tonight.

        • .4 went off? LMAO. Nice try. Cop out indeed.

Well, this was our last chance at being underdogs and shocking the world. Next year, we won't be the cinderella.

            • I'm pretty sure the win will be credited to Booker by CU fans inspite of Altmans coaching.

That should tell you something about the relationship he has there.

I think that the sun is beginning to set on that program at least from where it used to be.

If the clock starts on time that last play I honestly don't know if Altman survives.

              • Clearly the clock started late... BS

Clearly the valley didn't want all the Creighton fans to go home after the first night. TOTAL BS.

                • Usually I'm not one to say we need to get out of this conference because I think it would be tough to find a home if we did. But as bad as the officials have been for a LONG time and with crap like this I'm growing tired of the Valley of crap.

I can accept that. I thought it was about a half-second late myself. The thing to keep in mind is that due to the natural delay in reaction time, there is no way the clock is going to start at the precise moment the ball is tuched. A tenth or two will pass by the time the ref drops his arm and the timekeeper starts the clock.

It sucks, but I think it would have counted anyway. There are a whole lot of other things that were in our control that could have kept that situation from ever happening.

                        • Here's the thing about the rebound... Clevin was putting forth effort. That is something that has been pounded into these kids and got them to the point where they could come back and challenge the BJs. If he would've tried a little less, the ball would've bounced a couple of times and the Shocks would have won...

                          • Doesn't anybody have a DVR and able to post the video in full speed? This should be rather simple to determine.

I would have to assume that Elgin is on the up and up because he has to know that it is in the public domain now and if there was a fix it would be quickly caught.

I agree my dad & I on the phone in 2 seperate locations replayed the inbounds several times and it was always .3 to .4 on our ironmans. It just plain sucks and what's worse, my son called me out "Daddy that's a bad word" a bad night but I am proud of the Shocks and my son :good:
