Final: CU 63, WSU 62. Here’s the explanation from MVC commissioner Doug Elgin. The officials, using a stopwatch, determined the clock started around .4 seconds late. They also determined Woodfox’s shot would have beaten the buzzer even if the clock started on time.

“We looked at in the truck and it was clear to us the shot left the shooter’s hand between 1.0 and 0.9 left,” Elgin said. “We took a stopwatch to the inbounding of the ball from the time the ball was touched to the time the clock started. The clock clearly started late, there’s no doubt about that. We determined there was at least 0.4 differential between the end of the game and when the shot left the hand. The shot was before the expiration of time (had the clock started properly).”
That is rational thinking, but the same thinking should then apply to the setting of the clock when determining the 1.9 left to play. The replay showed 1.9 and the ball had not yet touched the floor out of bounds. Allowing for the ball to hit and the ref to react would have amounted to at least another .4 seconds.

Now that's a BS cop out if I've ever heard one.

At least have the common courtesy to give us a reach around Dougie.
I can accept that. I thought it was about a half-second late myself. The thing to keep in mind is that due to the natural delay in reaction time, there is no way the clock is going to start at the precise moment the ball is tuched. A tenth or two will pass by the time the ref drops his arm and the timekeeper starts the clock.

It sucks, but I think it would have counted anyway. There are a whole lot of other things that were in our control that could have kept that situation from ever happening.

As always your so full of it. Shox outplayed CU for the final 15:39 minutes. Outscoring them 37 to 16.
Ok, I was off by a few minutes.

Our guys have the most heart, no doubt. I just said it because I'm trying to make myself sleep easier tonight.
The fact is Shox outplayed CU by 15 minutes and change

another 9 minutes was practically a draw.

Then there was another 16 minute period where CU outplayed WSU.

You would probably make a good politician, twisting anything and everything for your own agenda.
Why are you ALL UP IN MY JEWELS? I said we played with HEART. It doesn't take rocket science to maybe consider we were slightly outplayed overall in that game. Does that mean I wanted that garbage shot to go in with extra time on the clock? NO.

Take it out on the Valley, the officials, the sCUm tonight. Save your other bs dogging on your own for another night.
Because I get tired of your negativity. 24-7. Its all the time. You have made VT unbearable and your doing the same thing for SN.
I'm pretty sure people can back me up on this, but I have made a CONCERTED effort to change that in the last few days. Saying CU SLIGHTLY outplayed us is not being NEGATIVE.

      Go wet yourself.

It's -- it's a tough one right now to -- to deal with, but I firmly believe that this lesson will also benefit us down the road because there's a lot of guys 9 in that locker room, everyone except for one, that will be back, and you know, we've -- we've been down21.

We've come back and taken a lead, we've had it snatched away, what are we going to do about it? So

                    • MEDIA: Clevin, when he came down and the ball went out of bounds and you thought it was Wichita State's ball, what happened after that?

CLEVIN HANNAH: He shot the shot, but he knocked it out before I could get to it. I touched it and he knocked it out. I didn't have full control of it. The ref made a tough call. It went against us that time.

                      • Read the press clipping. did a BJ ever give credit to the Shox? What losers.

I thought HCGM and the players were gracious as they tried to explain the "longest 1.9 seconds ever."

I get the feeling that HCGM is about to lay the smack down on altman, and he will not be nice doing it.

That's more than I saw Dana say in his entire interview.

                          • The game was just highlighted on SC, as 'the game of the night'. (How long has Jonathon Coachman been a SC anchor?)

It pains me to see the ball go off Clevin at the end. It went literally right through his hands. If he coulda just closed em up, we'd be living this up like there was no tomorrow. I watched it and rewound it several times. It didn't touch a CU player, it was fumbled off of Clevin and out of bounds.

                            Oh what could've been..

Did anyone realize up until Woodfox's shot that it was the exact same score MB beat sCUm with here in 2006 with the 3-ball (62-61). Man, I wish we would've burnt more time off the clock..

                            • Reading these links sure makes me glad we have Marshall. After a few drinks I'm able to think about next year and the future. Tonight sucked don't get me wrong but GM really impressed me. Look at his comments vs. Dana. Its not even close. CU has had a great run but with what we have in our cupboard I like our chances to go to STL and do some damage. Its been a couple of years since I've been to STL but I see a return trip in my future.

He's a Grade A D-bag. Did anyone catch him parading down the floor, giving all the Shocker coaches high 5's, instead of handshakes?

He is a total d-bag and represents sCUm perfectly.

I will cheer very LOUDLY the day sCUm falls next. Hopefully, it's tomorrow. Then, hopefully it's the NIT. If not the NIT, then hopefully it's another millionth one-and-done in the Promised Land.

                                What a douchy program.
