Royal we have a very inexperienced team with a fragile ego. The media's constantly reminding these guys of their team's lack of success both against Mo. State and in the Conference tournament is bound to have somewhat of a negative effect on their confidence. Add in our performance in the two games played against them this year and I would guess that their confidence is very low. I hope I'm wrong, but my money has to go on Mo. State this time.

I like your enthusiasm so I thought I would work out the odds. Assuming those are the teams we would play, and using Jeff Sagarin's Ratings I worked out the math. We have a 5.65% change of pulling this off. But that's not what is interesting.

What is interesting is that according to Sagarin, each game we play starting with Creighton becomes EASIER!! Creighton is rated 48, Illinois State 75, and Northern Iowa rated 83. I know thats because it's not based on Valley play, but any time you can diss on Northern Iowa I LOVE it. Those humps don't deserve first place. They won't win the Valley tourney I don't think.

Technically they won the conference, but I don't think they are the best team. Their overall record doesn't look near as good as Creighton's by a long shot. They beat Illinois State twice, but that's a crappy tie-breaker in my opinion (if that is the tie-breaker, I'm not sure).

But mainly I am just still jaded from a few years back and don't like Northern Iowa's cocky-ass fans (they were cocky before they were good -- Creighton's fans are cocky but earned the right). LOL

We are second half team, or used to be. We are starting the game at about when our 2nd halfs normally start. So we are going to be able to play the 2nd half first, and who knows how great we are in the equivalent of a 3rd half. Wow, it is all falling into place. We carry that momentum and just go out and drill those possum eating bears from mizzura state.
