Hannah's 8 biggest scoring games where he led the Shox in scoring:
Siena 72-70 W 19 points
MI St 57-65 L 19 points
Tx Tech 69-72 L 24 points
@Creighton 56-68 L 17 points
@ N. Iowa 54-78 L 14 points
@ Drake 69-74 L 22 points
N. Iowa 69-61 W 14 points
@ Ill St 59-74 L 21 points
2-6 in these games and 11-8 in other games. Almost half of our losses fall under the above category. However, I'm not blaming Hannah. Just the opposite.
I believe that when no one else,(or the team), or only one other player steps up, Hannah takes it upon himself to do whatever he can. I haven't looked, but I would guess Hannah's assists are low and his turnovers high in these games. Probably from trying to get others involved and forcing the issue....trying not to take all the shots.
Look at the two wins above. Siena was a very early season game for a young and inexperienced Shocker team and Hannah, as a Junior, took on the scoring load. The UNI home game: 14 points is the least number of points in the above games and I think everyone would agree this was a TEAM win, not because Hannah lead us in scoring.
Now consider the Shox other 11 wins. We play better team ball, other players step up, and Hannah's scoring goes into the background. He probably could have led us in scoring in some of those games, but that wasn't his job. The key to success: for the TEAM to step up, play hard, work continually, and play with confidence.
A number of people on here have ragged on Hannah and his PG abilities. Yes, he probably is just an average PG, but he has also stepped up a number of times when no else has. To try and do what ever he can to help the team. He's #1 on Prouty, #3 on im4wsu's +/-, and #1 when you combine to the two ratings.
GO SHOX!! GO TEAM!! :wsu_posters: :clap: :wsu_posters: :yahoo:
