The OFFICIAL LET"S SHOCK THE WORLD vs. UNI Game Thread
Durley will become even a greater force on offense once he understands the value of quickly kicking the ball back outside. As much as I like his scoring abilities, he is becoming a "black hole" from which nothing ever returns.
That is really only an option if another defender doubles down or "digs". Otherwise, he's just passing it to a guarded player and increasing the chance it will get tipped away and stolen.
If they don't respect him enough to double-team, then take it to 'em.
I understand, Royal. There were several times last night where Durley received the ball inside, held it too long (just outside the lane), giving UNI time to double and triple team, then forced the play/shot. Kicking back outside would have been a better option. One on one, few are going to control JT and I agree to take it to them.
I had a good view of Murry's pass to Kyles and it was thrown behind him.
I know Murry should have burnt clock, rather than try that long bounce pass to Kyles, but if David would not have taken his eyes off the ball, it would have brought the house down!
I hated to see that go OB, but that was on Kyles. Toure' Murry's "mistake" was on his breakaway, he purposely slowed down (turned his head back to look and slowed even further) before the FT circle and let the defender catch upto him. I think he may have thought he would surely get fouled and still make the shot...he got neither. Had he not slowed, we would have been treated to an awesome dunk.
I don't know whose fault it was on the play, but Mike Kennedy said that Murry passed the ball behind Kyles.
From Kennedy's angle, through all the bodies, perhaps it looked that way. To me it looked like Kyles was stretching forward and got his left hand on the ball and was looking up. It might have been a very tough catch, but it looked catachable to me. Sure didn't look like it was behind David, though.

--------------------------------------- Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare: "We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said: "That's the definition of a stool sample."
I don't specifically remember if the pass was behind Kyles or in front of him, but it was a decent pass. Not great, but it was definitely catchable and I think if Kyles wasn't too caught up in thinking of what the dunk was gonna be when he got it, it would've either been 2 pts or a foul.
The funniest part in this game was toward the end, they put about 5 or 6 police officers in front the student section, thinking we were gonna storm the court against Northern freaking Iowa
