I seriously think he needs his license (if refs have one) jerked for incompetence. He had at least seven calls that he blew that Stevie Wonder could have made. Plus, he was a total hothead. Anybody know his name?

It was McCall. I'm wasn't familiar with Hall so I figured he'd be the one that I didn't recognize.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

At one point, perhaps about midway through the second half, there was a blown call and the ref with the short white hair ended up being caught up in the Shocks' huddle at the beginning of a timeout.
Marshall was hot and had to be restrained by his coaches and even the players were patting him on the back saying "Its ok, its ok." as the ref lef the huddle.
As a ref and as a general respect thing, don't you want to stay as far away from a coaches huddle especially after a blown call? Or is the ref just trying to intimidate and bait?
What is the protocol with referees and team huddles. I know that refs will give a warning for the end of a timeout and will approach but I have rarely seen a ref inside of someone's huddle.

I did not see the game. I also did not see the described incident.
But over the years, Randy McCall has been a very good official.
Did he have a less than perfect game?
Quite possibly. We ALL have sub-par days.
But over the years, Randy is a professional and does a good job. 8)Above all, make the right call.

Randy McCall is the gray haired official who worked the game last night. David Hall is the older dark haired official
and Paul Janssen is the younger dark haired official. I think Paul Janssen does a good job and is usually pretty calm.
David Hall and Randy McCall on the other hand are just a little too inconsistent for me."Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media,
which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

I'll have to go back and watch again. I think since a timeout was called I wasn't that focused on what was happening. Did McCall walk into the huddle or was he over there when it was called and get stuck there? Even if it were the latter he should have gotten clear but sometimes the whistle blows and you get a little too relaxed and forget what you're doing.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
