Just a little fact about CSU, their undergraduate student body couldn't even fill up the chuck.

The year their university was FOUNDED, we were in the NCAA tournament. In their 2nd year of birth, we went to the final four.

We've been winning at basketball longer than they've been around.

Coach Marshall really does not seem to like the Bracketbusters either. Check out his quotes from this article. While I agree with his feelings about the Bracketbuster event, I don't really care for some of his comments. I'm hoping he was being sarcastic.

Wichita State's Gregg Marshall came the closest to dissing the event when asked about it Tuesday on the Valley's conference call. His 10-12 Shockers will play a 15-8 Cleveland State team that counts a victory over nationally ranked Syracuse among its wins.

"They're not doing us any favors this year," Marshall said. "We have an RPI of 166, while Cleveland State's is 95. They beat Syracuse. We're playing a team that is much better than us, and I'm not thrilled about that.

"Our game is not on television, and it's right in the middle of the conference season. Maybe it's good overall but right now, it makes us have to deal with a team that's really good."

The timing of the event has long been a sore point with some coaches. They chafe at the thought of dropping a nonconference game in the midst of the stretch run of conference play.

"Your mind-set this time of year is on conference play," Marshall said. "Last year, we were struggling and not very good, and we found ourselves having to travel to Northern Arizona.

"I'm not the brightest candle on the cake. I hear we're playing in Arizona, and I figured at least it would be warm there. We arrived in Flagstaff and got off the plane, and I thought we had landed at the North Pole. It turned out to be one of the longer days of the year for us."

I will have to say KC, that I can appreciate this type of post from you a lot more than the kind you were posting in the Fall of 2006 on other team's boards. Back then you were apologizing for our program and predicting certain defeat. Of course, we were playing BCS teams then and it's well documented what you think of our program in relation to a BCS program. You did everything short of offering sexual favors on those forums and it was disgusting. Thankfully we beat LSU and Syracuse and you were left with **** all over your face.

I have a feeling that while the Cleveland St. coach is upset at playing us this year, he'll be extremely happy to get us at their place next year. We'll be (hopefully) much improved and will be a very good nonconference home game for them.

Well, well, I just had to see this one for myself!

Despite being a Cleveland State fan, I totally represent myself. You'll excuse my brethren for being rather shy or, in most cases, non-existent. 40-plus years of being crap at basketball (with the exception of most of the 80s) will do that to a fan base.

Nice breakdown of the yearly win totals over the years. Most of those were accumulated by two guys I wouldn't trust to run my errands, let alone my basketball team (and yes, that includes Rollie Massimino, but I'll my history with that guy out of it).

Let's fast-forward to the heart of the matter, the fact that Gary Waters is bent he has to lug the team out to Wichita. Normally, this is the part of the show where I throw out some farmer or wheatfield smack, but the game's not for a couple of weeks, so I'm pacing myself. I digress, of course.

Bottom line is it all comes down to RPI. The Vikes, despite some severe disappointments (the loss of one of our starters killed us!), is still in the top 100. 69 spots down is, well, you. It's simple math. No real upside except for the home game next year.

In any event, I do hope that this season has been an aberration for you and that when you come to Cleveland, you don't suck. And I will look forward to the copious amounts of C-Town smack when the rematch comes around.

I look forward to reading what will inevitably be a verbal beatdown at my expense. I accept it as the price I pay for being such an a-hole.

If your going to trash the shox this isn't the place to be...go do that on your schools board; if you have one. Everyone on this board will get up on you if you continue to do this.

We are not the best team that we have ever been, but we do have one thing that competes with the Nation's best and that is our crowd. If you guys continue to trash us you are just adding fuel to the fire, only making the crowd louder when you guys come to Koch Arena in the future. This crowd is nothing that you guys had ever heard before...even better than Syracuse's crowd.

As evidenced in the acknowledgment by most fans on here that you deserved a better game than you got.

At the same time, realize though you are in 5th place in the Horizon league. Your RPI of 69, while better than ours, does nothing to indicate how you team will play in front of a large hostile crowd (and as someone who has been in the Carrier Dome for a game, they don't even come close).

While KC sometimes comes across rather brash, he was in his own way giving your team props for the season they are having, but letting you know next year will be a completely different story.

I for one think with the roll we are on, winning 5 of 6, and games coming up at Evansville (which I think we will win) followed by home games against Missouri State and Northern Iowa (which I think we should win) and then a trip to Illinois State (which we may lose) leaves us winning 8 of the 10 games leading up to the game with the Vikes.

And with a young, inexperienced team that is just now starting to gel, I think the Vikes are in trouble.

JMHO opinion, and if you want to look at how bracketbuster fans of other schools are treated when they come over to discuss ball, look at the George Mason threads. Even a couple of the Northern Arizona threads.
