The prettiest basketball we played was the handful of times we broke the Drake press with the ball never toughing the floor. I was really pleased with that.

These MVC games can really be grind 'em out affairs.

Overall, Shocks looked pretty solid today.

Toure' was very good again. Did not really force things as much as he usually does.

David continies to grow. Next step is to be more aggressive offensively. Looked very good knocking down the 2 free throws after we stunk it up from the line in the 1st half.

Shocks still in the hunt for a 6th place finish.

This was not nearly as loud as the 3 previous home games, especially at the end of the last home game.

However, it was loud in the first half and on the big plays in the second it was loud.

Hard to get it really loud when there is a ~15-20 point difference.

        I love Murry's line:
        17 pts, 6 boards, 4 assists, 4 steals. 6/12 from the field. 3/6 from 3.

Plus, he was guarding Young (4/16 and 0/7).
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I guess the last basket that AJ made that the announcers said was a three, was only a two. So we ended up having 63 instead of 64 points. After replaying that part of the game, I saw the ref pointing, so he must have been pointing that he was on the line.

Couldn't lose 4 in a row to Drake..
We lost to the Bulldogs 3 times last year and the first game this year.

I wonder what Murray's line would have been if he had not been sitting out the first half when the official scorer had him erroneously for two fouls. I bet he missed 5 minutes.

Also, AJ lead the team in assists with 5 and had no turnovers.

They showed 4 or 5 minutes of replays for that and shut the Shocks off as soon as possible to go to running?
Channel 10 didn't give us any respect either. They lead off with the K-State highlights followed by the Kansas highlights. WSU's highlights were third.

Also, Ben Arnet doesn't know how to pronounce Murry's first name. He keeps pronouncing it like "To-Ray", with the accent on the "To".

                          Any idea why?

RW, just to clarify, Gregg had sneakers on. They were black with gold accents......damned sharp if you ask me. I'm hoping to get a pair.

                          • We were very good defensively tonight. The press rattled the B'Dogs enough to give us a couple of easy baskets. They settled for long threes, sometimes open but often times very, very guarded.

Josh Young was all conference last year. Toure Murry outplayed him in every facet of the game. EVERY facet.

I'm afraid Drake's mojo from last season is all but gone. They may win another big one, then again they may not.

I know we are better than Drake. I hope by this time next week I know we are better than ISU and Evansville. These kids HAVE to learn to win on the road, and they HAVE to learn in the next 7 days.

                            • WuDr - I'm glad you called Shockfever out for that awesome prophetic post. How many times do we need to hear about his famous promises of self destruction? Some of our guards are stop gaps and as good as we have. Some of them are fantastic playmakers. Have to take the good with the bad right now and enjoy watching this team grow.

                              • Fever definitely got caught blowing hard - in the wrong pipe.
Calling Toure Murry horrible or stating he blows indicates who is really wearing shorts 5 times too small.
News flash - Toure Murry is the real deal. 8)
Above all, make the right call.
