  • It was a nice game for us. However, I have to say I was disappointed in our inside game (or lack of one). Other than a few times here and there--our offense didn't have a lot of dimension. Credit Drake's defense some on that, but on the other hand--we need to continue to develop the inside game because as we all know, it will make our outside game much more successful.

Toure's going to be a monster in this league. AE was solid for the most part, though not as hot shooting-wise and his fouls were a bit troubling. He wasn't a liability on defense and he's playing smarter overall though. There's obviously still plenty of room for improvement.

    • A good road win like this should generate a lot of confidence which in turn will beget more road wins. And pretty soon we may have little running all over the place. :yahoo:

The lack of an inside presence tonight can be attributed to Drake's zone defense. I thought the offense was very good tonight, we did not just stand and let the zone sit, we moved and created penetration lanes, which forced the defense to collapse. Once the defense collapsed we did a very nice job of finding the open shooter. I remember once where Murry drove baseline and made the extra pass to Reggie for a wide open three.

Remind me to start making book on your "promises".
It's called reverse psychology. Geez, lighten up. We blew em out.

But in all honesty, how can you feel comfortable with a big lead with this team this year? If you honestly can, props to you and your uncrackable optimism. We're young and you've seen leads disappear pretty quick with this team. That's why the statements were made. I'm glad I was wrong.

Whenever you come out and make a ballsy prediction, please let me know.

Otherwise, have a piece of STFU.

News flash - Toure Murry is the real deal. 8)
Except Murray. Murray is so big compared to our other guards that sometimes I fail to realize that he plays as one.

Minus Toure, our guards blow. Better?

              • Can one of our resident officials explain the 2 fouls/1 foul on Toure Murry? How is that correctable?

I don't make a lot of predictions, but here is one from over a year ago....

                  • At halftime yesterday, we had a nice lead. However, I also was in agreement with my intellectual peers at the game around me that we were NOT comfortable with our lead and were hoping our young-guns would come out the 2nd half with a sense of urgency. Toure' had another impressive game in so many areas.

Actually, our collective group of guards are more decisive and producing more than our group last year in my opinion. Several times last Season, Mr. Mekel seemed to want the ball in his hands at crunch time, but the results unfortunatly back-fired more than not. Yikes!!! The great news is that next year it appears our guards will continue to improve and we can add Kenny M. to our quality depth.

Yesterday, it was reassuring to see David Kyles to continue to get more minutes. The upswing betterment of Ellis and Kyles could be just what we need to assist in leading us to a strong finish this Season. As we look ahead to next year, I look down our bench and reflect on Gabe Blair and Johnny Coy gearing up and practicing with our team, and it brings a smile to my face and some pep to my steps.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

                      Any idea why?

RW, just to clarify, Gregg had sneakers on. They were black with gold accents......damned sharp if you ask me. I'm hoping to get a pair.
I hoped no one looked back at that :(

You have to remember that there is no seat in the arena farther from the bench then my seat.

                        • Yeah, it's a different perspective, and you do get to see (and hear) a different game. I like it as a change of pace, but only that. I much prefer to watch in the Roundhouse from row 31. Call me crazy.

I'm a little confused with the statement "A good road win like this".

This was a home win. I thought maybe you were saying if we had a "road win like this then...", but then you said "will beget more road wins" like we already had a road win.

                            I'm just confused.

Hey, me too. I'm in Sec. 120 at that exact row. Great view. Love my seats. Just don't like the climb (bad knees).

                              • I'm not exactly sure at what level the good Doc sits, but I'd love no be about 15 rows closer than I am. Especially if I were on the other side near the WSU bench.

There is such a thing about being too close and I wouldn't want one of the floor seats or the first couple of rows on the sides. Just about anywhere else though would be golden.
