I think this may be more appropriate for after the season, but the events of yesterday make me want to throw it out there anyway.
I don't know how many times I've heard the phrase "has ice water in his veins" used in conjunction with Mr. Toure' Murry all ready in this young man's career. I think it's apt, but there are some things I would like to happen with his game soon:
There is no question that the ball will be in his hands in late game, make or break situations for years. Whether we're in the lead or not, a man with the unflappable disposition and unwavering confidence that he possesses will often be in position to ice games for us.
This, in my mind, means free throw shooting. I want 85%+ and opponents to simply deflate when he's got the ball with the last seconds ticking away.
Also, this makes his that much more dangerous if he continues to employ the Hannah-like trickery drawing fouls on the perimeter like he was earlier in the Evansville game, making up for situations where the team isn't shooting well... essentially willing points for us to show up on the scoreboard.
I see reduced turnovers and an increase in overall shooting percentage coming naturally with getting more time in with his teammates and Marshall's system. Free throws you have to work at. If he's truly destined to be the big man taking the big shots, Toure' needs to step up and hit the gimmes. Getting so cold that opponents freeze and think twice every time he gets the ball.
