  • Bad habit

Says the sage KC: "I'm glad Mr. Coy was not at the game tonight, he would have nixed the Shox after viewing this performance." Well, maybe -- or maybe he would have thought to himself, "Man, there's time available with this team."

The Shocks seem to have a knack for playing to the level of their competition, which is not so bad when they're playing Georgetown and Michigan State, but a huge pain in the rear when they're playing UMKC and Northern Arizona.

Let's hope experience, development, and recruiting cure the tendency to play down.

He was irritating the hell out of me and my brother. He made a couple of calls WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY out of his zone. He made a number of make up calls from his bad calls and then made more make up calls for those make up calls. Dude was absolutley brutal. The other two I think did ok but it's hard to tell considering that guy dominated the game.

As far as the atmoshpere goes. The bald ref had a lot to do with how much it sucked. It's hard to get into a game when he's blowing his whistle all the damn time. And the game wasn't THAT physical.

That is so funny...even my WIFE asked me once, "was that really his call?"

Fishing all night long. Those guys did not have a good game at all, either way.

          • I can't remember if he was the one who delayed the start of the game by having to throw the opening tipoff 3 times.

What was the call on the second tip? I thought it looked OK.

The first one was pretty obvious. When the ref throws it up and if untouched it would have landed outside the circle, that is another tip.

            • The 2nd one was AWFUL too...but they should have let it go...it was only ugly and what the hell difference does it make? Frankly, I'd rather lose the tip and get the first jump ball.

              • Yes, it was the same official.

I think he got a new whistle as an early Christmas present.

                      That was annoying as hell.

But not quite as annoying as the endless mocking of the Shockers Up guy. Heckling players I can understand. Heckling refs, while annoying, I can kinda understand. Heckling our own fans? I don't understand that.

Oh, and speaking of free throws, if anyone knows the kid who yelled "try making your free throws!" at Garrett as he shot his first one of the night, please smack some sense into him. That was a crap move.

And is it just me, or do the cheerleaders seem like they don't want to lead cheers this season? They do well sometimes, but there are possessions where the shot clock hits 25 and nothing's going yet...

                      Or am I just crazy?
Deep in the heart of couldn't give a crap about college basketball-land and I miss the SHOX.

yea i was thinking the same thing, i think some students just go to the game cause its the cool thing to do, and they have no knowledge of the game or even our team. Although it was nice to see the student section nearly full last night.

Even better would be if they actually jumped for the held ball.

Save for the three old (and I mean OLD) people who sat (and I mean sat, the whole game) in the front row, left.

I took exceptional notice to the old man who had sound studio sized headphones on.

Kinda understand heckling the refs? Uh, that's a common and very accepted student practice buddy. If you think it's annoying and don't like it, it's time to leave the student section..

And I always thought newshock was the Shockers Up guy.

The ironic thing is Garrett has one of the better FT percentages on the team. Morons..

That's sad if true. I knew our students and other fans were bandwagoners, but I didn't think it hit the cheerleading squad too..
