I think where we fall short is in student attendance. At best, CKA will have about 1000 screaming students in their student section, where some of the other schools in the polls will easily draw 5-7000 students.

So I was on the floor, section 112 for the GW game, and I got to witness firsthand what happens when too much money meets too little fandom. I had an old lady give me a dirty look for cheering. Mind you she wasn't in front of me, behind me, or even next to me, she was about 10 feet away on the other side of the aisle. I didn't use expletives, I wasn't even negative. I was just ... alive, relative to the corpses down there.
By the way, if the rumors are true and Dawson Grimsley is thinking of running for Governor, I'm never voting for him for one simple reason: Dude has front row, center court seats at CKA, and other than the beginning of each half, he didn't stand up once. He hardly moved. I was, frankly, disgusted.
If I ever win the lottery, I'm buying up one of those sections, and I'm giving the tickets away to deserving students and fans with only one string attached: That you cheer as though your life depended on it.
It was a far cry from the Florida State game, I'll tell you.

By the way, if the rumors are true and Dawson Grimsley is thinking of running for Governor,
DG for Governor?

There has never been a more unqualified person to run anything in the history of mankind than Dawson Grimsley!

It would be like sending the Beverly Hillbillies to Topeka, he would put all of his unqualified relatives in high state positions just like the does at his car dealerships.

Not alone
Sure, WSU falls short of victory at CKA alot. Their not the only ones to lose games at home though. Powerhouse KU loses at home, I see people complaining on these boards sometimes that WSU students stay at home and watch KU on T.V. instead of coming to a WSU game. And yes, if you're a person that has watched KU basketball over the past 25 years, you know that KU for some reason is weaker at home than they are on the road. Great example, in the past 25 years K-State has beaten KU only 3 times: 2 times at Allen, and oh yeah, last year in the little apple for the 1st time in 25 years.. As arrogant as they are, every KU fan knows the drill. KU builds these great teams that go to the tournement almost every year, but in the process of doing so, they lose players to the draft at a rapid rate, wich leaves them easily beatable at home. KSU, A&M, Iowa State and a couple other mid majors have gone into Allen in the past and rocked young Jayhawk teams. This is another reason why I'm against us never playing them. Let's say the Shox did play at Allen, it's not like KU has NEVER lost a game there to a lesser opponet. I brought this up to a KU fan a few days ago actually, of course he laughed and insisted KU would win by 40. Then I laughed and replied "So after Georgetown, Michigan St. and Texas Tech all failed to blow our young team out away from CKA, what makes you think this KU team who just got rocked by mid-major Umass could do it?" He didn't have any logical response to my question and backed down. Moral of the story, good teams lose games at home, we're only going to be better next season.it's up in the air
