    Good post Shocklight.

Wins will come...we have a lot of talent. These guys are trying to implement what they have just learned rather than just play. It will all come together.

I think Clevin shoots way too much. I have no problem with his shooting if he's making a decent percentage. But when he's not, he needs to pass the ball around and let others try it.

What's the record for number of FGA's during a season for a point guard? I think if he keeps up this pace, he might break it.

I'm hoping somebody (preferably somebodies) soon will step up and take up the slack when Clevin goes cold. From everything we heard last season, AJ was supposed to be our man. Last night, he showed glimpses of it, but it wasn't enough to pick up the team.

I am confident they will find their offense in the next couple of games against lesser competition.

Above all, they need to get home for some Koch cookin'.
Sounds like we caught some of the "stupid-itis" bug again. We gotta get some of those smart "farm kids" (as HCGM calls them) to help catapult our venerable program back to the spotlight!!!111

Perhaps I can counter your viewpoint with another...

"I just don't know Mike... we need to get better..."

"I was asking the players what kind of offense they wanted to run during halftime..."

The above high lighted words got Coach Turgeon in a lot of hot water with many posters on this esteemed forum. Coach Marshall could learn from history.

I have watched the Georgetown, MSU and Texas Tech games, and here is my #1 problem at this point. It's not that we don't have an effective gameplan, it's not that we are in awe of who we're playing, because obviously tonight was akin to playing in a Y rec league. The problem is that our kids are having absolutely no freakin' fun whatsoever. Where is the intensity, where is the smiling when we do good. Where is the desire to please the coach? Where is the fire? What is the problem? Is it that coach Marshall is too hard on them? Are they afraid of screwing up? I don't know. But I know that when you are having fun doing what you are doing, you do it better. When you want to go out and compete, you don't get crap like tonight.

I just want to see the kids having fun and getting better. If they aren't having fun, they are going to start leaving.

I believe he was talking about stutz when refering to posting 17 feet away, not that it matters in the end result.
              Nope, it was Durley.

It's hard to have fun when you're losing. I know I never found much joy in it.

I've played every kind of softball that exists, including beerball, and you both have a point.

Truth is that HCGM has accentecd defense so much, that we are lacking in offense. Recruiting athletic players is great for playing fast paced ball, which we do not, but we can not even close out the bunnies that we get.

This team is more than struggling, they haven't found a way to win, and I would not put much stock in the Siena win, they lost 3 in a row. Outside of Hannah (who can make a shot) and Murry (who is doing okay for a Freshman), we do not have much Offensive talent.

Most players can slash to the basket when given a path, but few can put up a contested 3 and make it on a regular basis. Offense is something a player has a feel for or doesn't. You can teach them all day long, doesn't mean it will work in a game.

Defense, on the other hand, can be taught to any player. Defense is more about effort displayed by the player.

We are looking more and more like that 9th place team we are predicted to be. And this team has played enough games to have 'gelled'. I mean if you got a brain at all, you should have learned by now.

To say that this team needs half a season or more to gel is a joke and a insult to the individual players intelligence.

Great coaches don't make excuses, they take action.

If Durley won't spend the effort to post up down low...And it does take all out bust butt effort, then all we have is Stutz,...who I think will be a great player for us but a year off.....Clemente is too small and Ellis to lite ......At guard,Hannah is game but small and not that quick...So Murray...a freshman has to step up to take som pressure off of Hannah.....AJ also...Kyles, Chamberlin and Hatch are not there yet...I am still waiting for at least 3 or 4 of our players to live up to the pre-season promise I anticipated and not the 9th place team they look like now...not looking for a miracle...just 3 or 4 gamers

Unfortunately, we have seen even less "bust-butt" effort out of Stutz. Durley better step up to the bar we have all set for him, or that ninth place finish will be realized.
