Speaking of big men -- I know Paul Miller went to a Big Man's Camp in the summer before his Senior year. Can you send any of your big men to this camp, or is it reserved for those going into their Senior year? Is this something the school pays for or does the player have to foot the bill. If the player has to pay, I understand not going. If the school pays, is it so very expensive you need to pick and choose who to send and when?

The player pays his own way. I'm not sure if there is any restriction on when they can go though.

And remember..since he is redshirting this season, he can sign a letter of intent this November...BEFORE he plays a juco season and draws attention to himself...So hopefully we can seal the deal before he starts to play

If EO does make it here in a couple of years--talk about the 'perfect storm' brewing... I mean a GOOD storm. I know right now it's only dreaming, but all I can say is, I would hate to be one of our Valley opponents in the 2010-2011 season!

You got that right....in diamonds. I was afraid of saying spades because someone might call me a racist.

I might be incorrect, but I believe A.J. is O for the season in jump shots from 15' or more.

If not for the backboard shot in Orlando, he might be O for the season for all shots, but layups.

I continue to hear people describe the 4 as a natural position for J.D. Durley. At this time, I disagree with this assessment. He looks like a natural post. On defense, he looks much more comfortable guarding people close to the basket. A 5 rarely goes out on the court on defense and if he does, he sags. 4's more often on offense move farther from the basket and more often have a strength of putting the ball on the floor. I have seen Ramon on rare occasion struggle with a quick 4 and he is much quicker than JD. Durley has improved on his defense away from the basket and maybe he will continue to improve but his lack of quickness will be a detriment for him. Ramon and Aaron have quickness that helps them in this area.

Thanks for the correction. I know that but my mind was elsewhere. I hope that you didn't miss the entire point because of my absent mindedness.

The 4 is normally a post as well. JT has more reason to be on the perimeter than Ramon does. Defensively he'd be fine with most PFs. No matter what position you play you're going to run into those who give you difficulty.

When we get another C in here (EO) it'll be great. If my math is correct that'd give us Blair and Durley as SR PFs with Hamilton as a FR/SO. At C we'd have JR Stutz and SO Ehimen. That's the type of post play that could give just about any team fits. :D

And who knows who else may be added to the roster between now and then.

And most likely, they will be as good or better than what we have now.

FSF wants our Twin Towers here at 21st and Hillside, and I want it NOW!!!!!!! EO is a class act. Not a bad shooter. He did seem like a work in progress but his potential is scary good. In scrimmages, he was effective when he received the rock close to the basket. He loves to slam. He for sure can block and alter shots. He looked like a full 7'0" tall to me. The sooner EO is back, the better. Stutz and EO would truly learn from each other and help each other improve.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Durley is 6'7", has some shooting range, and has some abilities handling the ball. That usually gets a player labeled as a 4. 6'7" just isn't tall enough for anyone other than a freak athlete (think Charles Barkley) to be thought of as a 5.
