Well that could be good. Seems they didn't feel they protected the perimiter well either. So that could be good.

My concern is our transition defense. I thought that killed us today. If I remember right, Izzo likes to get some easy transition buckets when possible. I think that is part of what killed us the last time we played them. Of course my memory sucks and maybe I'm thinking of a different game.....

Transition also killed us against Georgetown. It's becoming a very dangerous habit with this team.

            Easy there..

Centenary has contained the Hawk. UMKC has contained the Hawk.

He needs to learn how to control himself when driving. He reminds me of a Nate Funk without the ability to score.
I'm just saying their weaknesses and concerns might be enough for us to exploit. If we can control the pace of the game, we could win this one.

                  MSU starters
                  Travis Walton - 6'2", 190, 6.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.3 apg
                  Marquise Gray - 6'8", 235, 4.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg
                  Kalin Lucas - 6'0", 180, 12.0 ppg, 5.3 apg, 25.0 3p%
                  Delvon Roe - 6'8", 225, 5.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg
                  Durrell Summers - 6'4", 195, 8.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 42.9 3p%

                  That accounts for 35.6 ppg

                  Bench:
                  Raymar Morgan - 6'8", 225, 15.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 33.3 3p%
                  Chris Allen - 6'3", 205, 11.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 33.3 3p%
                  Korie Lucious - 5'11", 170, 5.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 40 3p%
                  Goran Suton - 6'10", 245, 6.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg

Bench is getting 38.9 ppg out of 4 guys - YIKES!

Interesting player on their team who isn't doing much:
Idong Ibok - 6'11", 260 Sr. from Lagos, Nigeria. Is averaging 10.0 minutes this year, 0.0 ppg, 0.5 rpg, 1.5 apg

Just from the stats and roster, it looks like they run a 3-guard set that doesn't emphasize shooting 3's. The 3 starters where I didn't list a 3p% all have a 3p% of 0.

I haven't watched them, but I expect guards try to drive and try to feed inside. Point production is spread out among 9 players. From the GameTracker, they get a lot of layups and dunks. I think from game reports they seem to emphasize scoring in transition or beating the D down the court.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

LOL yeah I pointed most of that out earlier in the thread. But yours is more organized ;)

I noticed that after I hit "Submit". Mine took longer than I expected to type. Plus, at one point during typing, but before "Submit", my wife said, "Do you know it's 5 till 11 and we're out of beer"?

I had to solve that dilemma on a holiday weekend!

Kinda of like Georgetown....the longer we can hang around with them the more pressure it puts on the helmet heads. Going to be tougher to slow them down though....Its not out of the question...I agree it would take a tremendous effort from our kids but hey lets see what a good win does for their confidence.

After watching us hang in there with Gtown and come back from 12 down to take Siena out, I have the feeling MSU will be in "put this out of reach" mode the entire game.

That could get to be "not pretty".

Not only that but I am sure them getting BLOWN OUT by Maryland got them to focus REALLLLLL well.
