I think the important thing will be to look at individual players against G'town and the other teams in Orlando rather than scores and W's and L's.

We are a very young team, and the best thing for us is to not be hung up on winning, but learning and gaining experience. Garrett will be in for 60 mins of school. He will get beat, and he will have at least one shot blocked. How he responds, and how hard he goes back up will the test. Murry will get picked, and he will get beat. How hard he mans back up, and how hard he goes back to the hole will be his test. Ramon will grab at least 3 rebounds from Monroe, and Durley will school at least 2 of their PF's on offense. He will be burned several times on D though. How the TEAM defends and rotates to help will be their test on D.

If we lose by 20, but play well, I will be happy. remember Monroe will be in NBA next year. Stutz will be back here with all he learns this year. He is a bright kid that soaks up everything!!

I'll repeat a post I made in the volleyball forum.

I hope there is a big turnout on Friday (& Saturday). Please attend and bring your friends. WSU students pay only $1 per session; cheering for the Shocks on Friday and Saturday is a great way to burn off some of those Thanksgiving dinner calories. Shocker basketball and baseball fans should come out because public enthusiasm for one sport (e.g. volleyball) improves recruitment not merely for that sport but for all Shocker sports. Seeing a huge crowd on television (e.g. FSN) Saturday night would be great for Shocker sports.

"Everybody" knows this will be a rebuilding year for Shocker basketball. Rather than diss us, maybe Katz could point out how this experience might benefit the young Shocker team in the future. If high school players see that the basketball team has a lot of heart and Shocker fans will turn out to support WSU sports like volleyball, I think this will make it a little easier for HCGM to recruit the players he wants. He is already doing a great recruiting job but I'm sure he wants even more.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

The big difference between the two is that Katz will at least
occasionally support non-BCS schools unlike the Rat Packer.

i'm truly insulted by that prediction.

now i'm gonna be pissed for the entire tournament and hope more than ever that we beat all 3 teams.

                  81-58?

i will castrate myself if we lose that bad.

i hope we win 81-58 and next time i see katz maybe give him the righteous middle finger.

i should have taken my medication today... im getting angry to easliy.

                    Wing Man,
You might want to stay away from sharp objects and kitchen appliances on Thursday. Anything can happen, but castration is a rather strong threat - even after a few too many beverages. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

I think young, inexperienced teams can score moral victories, and that is exactly what I'll be looking for in these three games.

Winning is certainly the goal, but I see this tournament as more of a benchmarking exercise. It's a way to expose weaknesses and strengths and for the guys to see the level they need to attain in order to become an NCAA tournament-caliber team over the next couple of years.

                            Agreed Royal.

Our goal in the Old Spice should be to not look like a Stony Brook/Tennessee Tech/Central Arkansas.

We are more than likely going to get our asses handed to us against Georgetown and yes we are the worst team in the field...The Shocks will likely improve later in the season, but at this point we are the worst team. It's going to take a little bit of luck and the team playing better together for us to eek out some wins in Orlando.

Most here have agreed that it is reasonable for annalists to predict the Shox loosing....but that sounded more like a personal attack, especially the 3rd paragraph.
That rug really tied the room together.
