KU schedules it's marquee games in conjunction with ESPN, and then fills the rest of the schedule around those games. It's all about viewership, TV markets, and national perception, and as it is, KU usually can get glitzy games with teams from larger markets, and it'd be crazy to turn those down to play extremely difficult games from MVC teams in relatively bad TV markets [or at least markets in which KU already has a strong presence]. I won't deny that there are some other factors that can influence team scheduling for a particular school as well, and it seems like everything is just simpler if KU and WSU just find other teams to play.
Maybe we'll meet in a tournament one of these days, or ESPN will make an offer too good for either school to refuse. I see the former happening before the latter. I'm hopeful, because I would love to see the inside of Koch Arena if KU would visit  , and I'd like my WSU friends to see AFH in all it's glory.
I think we should at least get the women's teams to play each other. That'd be a start.
