  • J.T.Durley

You can count the number of posts in the nearly 5k attibuted to me over the last however many years that have called out a player by name on one very deformed hand.

As far as I am concerned, JT can find another school at semester. I'll help him find it, and I'll pay for his bus ticket. Give his scholarship, time, attention and uniform to someone that cares and wants to represent WSU with some heart.

In order, Reggie Britton, Mason Felter, Bret Michael and Brett Steven should get his scholarship now.

If he plays one more minute, it will be too flippin soon for me.

Very unusual indeed for you to make a post like this.

I didn't get a chance to attend, watch, or listen to the game last night, but from what I have read on here, JT is right back to his usual self from the beginning of last year.

      Yikes..

That was a post for the ages!

I'll let two games slide. Consider the third game, the third strike, if it comes to that.

Over the summer, many had posted that JT had matured more and taken more of a leadership role with the team. He had a decent start to the game last night and then got tired from playing much of the first half. I am not ready to throw him under the bus yet.

Let me get this straight ...

You want to throw away a sophomore, 34 games into his career, who is our leading returning scorer and was all-MVC Freshman first team last year on the basis of two games where he had to try and guard smaller, quicker athletes, and who equaled his PPG from last year despite junk zone defenses and limited minutes from foul trouble?

Is it just because he's one of two regular players on our team with a FT pct. over 65%?

            Deft move, Coach Wooden.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

actually he might be basing it on a fact that the first two games were a mere continuation of his first 2 years here.

It is FAR deeper than that. I have never questioned JT's talent...he has tons of it. If you haven't learned from the past you are doomed to repeat it.

Comin from Doc, it must be much deeper than that. I am laid up with a broken ankle right now, but I did get to watch last nights game on TV. I could not believe JT's lack of effort (or maybe just not realizing what was going on) on defense. We were beat of the dribble numerous times by their guards. One instance, I really believe I saw JT look at the guy driving in (Hatch had just been beaten), but that was all that happened; he just watched him drive in and score. He either doesn't understand the ball/man concept of defense or is to afraid (or lazy) to make a committment to actually put it all on the line and GUARD somebody. It's really hard to take especially while watching Ramon give 110 percent even trying to secure rebounds that aren't even in his area. :goshocks:

Boy have you got THAT right. If I have to watch one more player in black and yellow loaf around while Ramon is busting his tail on every flippin play like his life depends on it, I may throw something.

I remember in 2001 I drafted this certain running back who had showed promise but had never got over the hump for fantasy football. First two games he had 7 carries for 21 yard and 8 carries for 30 yards. For your number 1 RB - this type of performance is unacceptable.

Before week 3 I released him. In week 3 he ran for 147 yard (another 78 reception yards) and scored 3 TD's. For the season he ran for 1,555 yards and caught another 614 yards. His name was Priest Holmes.

You just never know what can happen.

That's true you never know what will happen - but you never know what will happen if you give someone else a chance that might give the effort. It could help both players - one may just need a message, and either will respond positively or not at all - then you'll have your answer.

I feel there is something in the air........It's too early in the season for people to be talking this way, unless something unknown to most of us is going to happen.

Maybe benching him would be a good start. Maybe--just maybe that will shock him into stepping it up. If I were HCGM, I would make him work for his starting position in practice. Show that he wants the position, and not just get it by default.

One thing's for sure--Garrett will work hard at it, and if he's given the position we might get beaten due to his developing (notice I'm not saying poor skills) defensive skills but he'll give 100% effort I think.

If JT wants it bad enough, then make him show that before giving it to him.
