Which is worse?

1. 3 point loss to UMKC

or

2. 25 point loss to Duke

Just wondering.

A loss to UMKC by far. We lost to Michigan State on a "neutral floor" by 20 something the year we went to the sweet sixteen. If you asked SIU if they would trade their lose to Duke for a lose to UMKC...that would be a negative.

In terms of what? I think the only way the answer to your question matters is if, 1) Both teams are in at-large contention at the end of the year or 2) we're talking about the same team losing to both UMKC and Duke.

In scenario 1, the UMKC loss is probably worse, if UMKC and Duke have the seasons most expect them to have.

In scenario 2, it depends on what the team in question learned from it.
