Although late in posting, my observations from the SW corner.
Highlight was Murry absolutely baiting the ESU guard into the pass he intercepted and took to the hole at the north end. He's going to be FUN to watch.
Graham, echo in here, was a man last night. There is always room for a solid, heady player, even if that room is just a specific role.
Free throws not only missed, but nearly all of the misses had no chance whatsoever. There is no way that it was representative of guys who had avoided running by hitting 75% as a unit in practice. Unless maybe the game didn't have them exhausted enough to make free throws.
Hannah...certainly knows how to get himself a pretty clean look at the basket...has a tremendous first step, even if he isn't fast, he gets open enough, at least against ESU (actually looked like they played in-your-face defense often).
Three point shooting--I didn't see a lot of bad shot selection, nor did we seem to be looking for the three. Several came on nice kick-out passes.
Stutz will in time learn not to dribble inside...hope it's sooner rather than later. He could certainly use a RS year for strength purposes (rebounding), but that is a luxury we might not be able to afford.
Coach has some decisions to make concerning redshirts. I'd hate to see Kyles play less than 5 per game and burn a shirt for that. If the starters plus Griskenas, Ellis and Chamberlain stay healthy, then it is Hatch or Kyles. Hatch doesn't have a shirt to use, does he?
Overall, great to see the Shox and definitely worth the 2 hour drive from Great Bend.
