I'm not going to count RC and AJ because they have already had good years although AJ was with another team. I'll give the honor to Murry. It could easily be JT or another. Way to many to pick from, which is great.

I'm pretty sure Ramon and AJ will have good years. I think several players will be much improved, but I think the break out player will be Toure.

The breakout player of the year goes to...

          Aaron Ellis

Watch you'll see with glee that he will be set free.

I've got to go with Durley.

If Clemente moves to 12 points and 9 boards, that's not a breakout year. Plus, there's going to be better competition for boards on WSU's team this year.

If WSU is going to move into the top half of the Valley, Durley has to have a breakout year. If he can carry his reported better attitude into game situations, he's certainly capable of a breakout year.

I expect many of us to utter these words when looking at the boxscore the next day: Damn, I didn't realize Toure Murry had that good of a game!
Gotta agree. Cooz was that kind of player.

Next year I'm looking for a breakout year from Stutz.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Stutz could do it by Valley Tourn. time. then lookout baby

Clevin Hannah...I can't believe no one has picked this guy yet. He can light it up from three, has great quickness and can dish!

Durley is my second choice and I think he will lead the team in scoring but iti skind of expected from him right?

Didn't HCGM say he and JTD had a come to Jesus talk over the off season, where JTD finally saw the light?

I wonder how hard HCGM had to smack JTD up side the head to get him to see that light.

The only question with JT is how many points allowed will he average... But he could be due for a HUGE year.
                          JT is my candidate.

When he wants to play, he is a horse to handle.

JT had four things he needed to fix:

                            A) Improve his attitude/work-ethic.

                            B) Get in better shape.

                            C) Learn to play better defense.

                            D) Not shoot the ball every time he gets it.

Reports are that he has taken care of A and is getting better at B. Now he needs to finish B and get to work on C and D. I expect it will take at least half a season for JT to show marked progress in those areas. If he does, he could be a beast by MVC tourney time.

On the other hand, depending on how good of shape he is in, he could just as easily wear down by then. We should know after a few games if his conditioning is where it needs to be at that point.

What's great about this thread is that we're not talking about which one of three, but which one of 9 or 10 will have a breakout year. As for me, I'll trade one breakout year for 5 or 6 guys having a solid year. Who knows ... maybe we'll get both!

You're absolutely right ShockTalk. It's impossible for me to really narrow it down to even 3. There are so many guys with a lot of potential this year. I can't wait to see them in an actual game setting. The ESU game can't get here soon enough.
