I do think 20 wins is doable. But I could handle 18 or so.

there's a difference between being a fan and being a homer. there's too many new components in this yellow and black machine to expect fantastic results now. It'll take this year for everyone to gel together as a team.

My guess is an old prediction because we still have so many new players. 17 wins this Season but I think 22 is feasible the following Season.

Obvious improvement is all we can hope for--however that ends up being apparent.

I like that statement because it leaves it open. If they are .500 then they've met that criteria, but if they win 20 games and make the tourney (I know, not likely) then they've still met it.

Now 2009-2010 will be different. Higher expectations there...

My thinking is simple, if GM can get 12 wins out of last yrs team, losing some close gms he should have won,could easily have eeked out 6 more wins with a bounce here or there.What are the possibilities with this yrs team and its talent level.I understand your thinking of not wanting to expect too much too soon but this guy can motivate players to do the unbelievable and that's what sold me from day one.The guy is a Winner and mark my words as you always do,they will be 20 gm winners this year.Those 6 extra gms they lost by 1 or went into OT will be wins this year.Believe.

All the "realists" are scoffing, but with a little good luck last year's team really could just as easily have been over .500 as 11-20. If that had been the case, what would be "reasonable improvement" this time around?

If they go from about 1% good luck to 50%, and improve besides, 20 wins is not that farfetched, and if they're even close to as lucky this year as they were unlucky last year, Bigshotmaker could look clairvoyant. I'm not going to say I expect 22-8, because that opening tournament looks mighty tough, and if they struggle in Orlando there isn't much margin for error. But nothing will shock me.
