Also remember that if EO gets here, then when he, Kyles, Murry, and Stutz are Juniors; Blair, Ellis, Chamberlain, Durley, and Hatch will be seniors. Manigault and Hamilton will be Sophomores. I don't expect all to play significant roles during their careers, but there should be some real depth of experienced talent!

I don't remember Arbry getting that much run, his Senior stats were discussed ad nauseum in the Recruiting forum and not in a positive way.

While many might have seen a lanky athlete that was a different kind of player than MT had recruited in the past, I don't know many that didn't see him as a long term project.

      • I do not believe that Chamberlin and Hannah will both start... they are talented but that would give us an awfully small guard set ...Especially with the size and caliber of Murray and Kyles available at the 2 position .....I do believe this is the deepest and most talent we have had at guard in years

If everything works according to the current plans and Orukpe comes to WSU, he'd be in the So. class for eligibility. He's supposed to be taking a redshirt year at Three Rivers this year.

I am sure I am dense on this subject. It has been written about many times and I am not sure there are two posts, which are in agreement.

I could almost swear that I heard Coach Marshall say the EO will return to WSU in the fall of 2009 and he will be eligible for the '09-'10 season.

If this is true, what is Three Rivers motivation for redshirting him this year? If he will not play this current season and he transfers to WSU in fall 2009, it seems there is little reason to have EO on the Three River's team, other than as a favor to Coach Marshall.

Where did I run off the tracks and into the ditch? (Mixed metaphor.)

            • maybe Coach wants him to be there so other schools won't try to snatch Ehimen up

              • I have re-evaluated the scrimmage and have some new and improved information for those concerned about the post defense.

                • Orukpe can only be eligible for D1 if he either graduates from a JuCo or if his grades and test scores appear out of Nigeria.

There has been an article written that Orukpe is not happy with the redshirt year - he would rather be playing basketball. If Orukpe's grades and test scores somehow magically appear out of Nigeria, then 3 Rivers could potentially get nothing but the use of a scholarship for a player who never played a minute.

There have been media reports that Orukpe is redshirting this year. I doubt WSU is expending any more effort to get Orukpe's grades and scores. It seems most unlikely that his grades and scores will appear magically after 2 years of effort couldn't get them.

I don't recall anything in print that Marshall expects Orukpe back next year. Many posters here expressed that thought. I think the expectation at WSU and at 3 Rivers is that Orukpe will be a So in eligibility at WSU in 2010-11. I also think there's probably a gentleman's agreement that in case of injury or something else unforeseen, that Orukpe's red shirt could be pulled.

                      • Ricky, if the grades show up he can play here starting in the fall of 2009 ( probably not going to happen). So he will redshirt this year and play at Three Rivers next year 2009-10, then play for us in 2010-11 (having 3 years of eligbility left for us).

Nothing has changed, as I still have good information.

At no point did I say I was going to share it with the masses.

Post a personal scanned picture of a volleyball season ticket & I'll be happy to PM you.
