anyhow, i'm glad we get to practice against Kstate this year. that's kinda cool.
i dislike frank martin, and am ashamed that he is a coach in kansas, BUT you do what you got to do to win i guess.
that being said, he'd got quite a bit of talent up there even with walker and beasley in the NBA.

should be good practice, better then St. louis or oral roberts or tulsa.
    veni, vidi, vici

Sorry to hear you don't like Frank. I have met him and he is an outstanding person and is proving to be an excellent coach. He came to our country as a Cuban immigrant with nothing and has worked his way to the the top tier of his profession. When did you speak with him?

For a fan of a school that has had gems like the Smithson's as coaches to say they are ashamed of Frank is beyond belief.

I hope we can get some news out of the scrimmage. I would rather be playing a top 25 program like Marquette again but a scrimmage is a scrimmage.

I’m with you. Considering the competition we’ll see in Orlando to open the season I’m not sure why coach Marshall didn’t look for top 25 squads. :sarcasm: Something tells me it’s going to be a pretty big leap in Orlando.

KSU doesn't excite me and Frank Martin is the type of person I'd love to never interact with.

Oh please.....spare me. I could pick out 10 times on TV last year that Frank Martin made me ashamed to be in the same genus. Nobody is going to confuse Randy with GHWB's Martha Vineyard's neighbors but it's childish and stupid to say "you guys had a redneck coach so our's is ok" (but I should know "childish and stupid" defines most of your discussions).

Everyone with a brain knows exactly what Frank Martin is and isn't. If you like him, great, but he is what he is.

Remember, Cat fans were ga-ga over Jim Wooldridge too early on, the "Top 10" recruiting class(es) he had and the vaunted Triangle Offense which was bound to revolutionize college basketball.

But others saw him for what he was - an assistant coach for a losing NBA team with an offensive plan doomed for failure at the college level.

Big difference is, Frank Martin was a known cheater in Miami. At least Wooly didn't have that on his rap sheet.

So, BCSCat, enjoy the ride and cozy up with Frank. How could there be anything to worry about with a coach who violated recruiting rules previously and is now somehow landing stud after stud at K-State? I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.

Martin was investigated and cleared by the FSHAA which determined that the fault was with the school's administration and not the coaching staff. Frank went on to another school in Florida and did very well.

Yes, he swears. MS coaches swear, HS coaches swear. BFD. I would rather Frank didn't but I love his fighting attitude which was so lacking in the above mentioned Jim Wooldridge.

I wasn't speaking of the Smithson's in terms of being rednecks but that is a good point. I was alluding to the drinking, drug abuse and NCAA violations that those fine gentlemen were known for. However being a redneck would certainly help a coach fit into Wichita high society, such that it is.

Don't get me started on the money WSU has recieved from fine humans like Rusty Eck and Jim Herschberger.

Is everyone assuming that the game will be played in Wichita or has it been announced?

The KSU fan must have a lot of time on her hands, or an interest in caring what WSU fans think about her and her program. Or it must be getting close to football season, which for Kitty fans means the start of another long and bumbling year.

Now I know why the Cat is bored and coming in here begging for attention.

And how does Martin fit into the High Society situation at Silo Tech? Which is the High Society respresentative in that equation?

So, I visit the High Society fan board ksufans.com, where the embarrassing KU obsession never takes a day off. It's so overwhelming that there's nothing noteworthy in their thread about the KSU/WSU scrimmage.

How can an atheltic department which hasn't won a single NCAA national championship in its history be obsessed with KU? How can a basketball program which hasn't even sniffed a Sweet Sixteen in 20 years be so obsessed with KU? Even WSU has been to the Sweet Sixteen since KSU. They should try to catch up with WSU before obsessing over KU. It's truly disgusting.

KSU hired Huggy and got GRCOAT (Greatest Recruiting Class Of All Time).

Huggy left immediately. KSU hired an AAU coach and an Asst. coach whose best qualifications were that they could keep the GRCOAT intact.

GRCOAT couldn't achieve what WSU achieved with the "inferior" athletes that WSU could recruit compared to the athletes that Huggins and Martin could recruit.

GRCOAT either fizzled or is gone to the NBA.

A football team that had been in the hunt for a few national titles ended up hiring an obscure asst. coach who can't keep a staff together. KSU should have been able to do better.

Prince and Martin are perfectly capable of leading KSU back into the land of athletic mediocrity that KSU fans should have learned to expect from KSU's athletic department.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
