I just noticed that Miami took 3 players all from Kansas haha

and besides who really thinks mario chalmers can take over PG duties of the worlds greatest player ever in Blake Ahearn.

Chalmers was getting a lot of good feedback from teams following his private workouts, and with all the momentum from his shot, it's hard to fault him for jumping. I thought he was a sure thing to take Jacque Vaughn's back-up PG spot in San Antonio at worst, but he has a chance to start in Miami if things go well.

I think Arthur got what he deserved, though. He was lazy, naive and disrespectful to NBA teams in the weeks leading up to the draft. He didn't show up to workouts that he had scheduled with NBA teams, and didn't bother to call them to let them know. He let rumors about stress fractures and kidney problems run unchallenged. All of this could have been avoided if he would have hired an agent, which he didn't do until four days before the draft (nine days after the withdrawal deadline). His mom was handling his affairs before then. Disaster. You wait until June 22 to hire an agent, and you're just begging for other players with experienced agents to get picked ahead of you. He still ended up with a pretty good spot in Memphis, and will make his money in the end.

I was glad to see Rush was taken in the lottery. I liked the Portland pick, but Indy is okay, too. I'm not sure I like him having his brother on the same team. Kareem is lazy, and I hope it doesn't rub off on Brandon.

I was also glad to see Darnell Jackson and Sasha get drafted. Both of those guys deserved it. It was a pretty good night for KU, even if Chalmers and Arthur dropped more than they wanted.

I was happy for Darnell as well.

I would be ready to crown portland arse if they kept Brandon.

Blake Ahearn (MSU) had a short term contract with the Heat last year. They need a guard and if I had to choose between MC and BA...MC wins hands down.

from somebody who watched him at nearly every home game this year, chalmers is more of a true PG than a 2 guard in my eyes. i guess we'll see though.

The Heat with Chalmers, Wade, Marion, Beasley and Haslem in the starting lineup could easily go from the worst team in the league to a top 4 team in the Eastern Conference.
Oh, I would definitely agree, but those two were looking for big, guaranteed money. Arthur will get guaranteed $$, but not what he was expecting.

I assume that Chalmers will make the Heat's roster, but nothing is guaranteed. I think his head ballooned a little much after making "the shot"
I disagree, Chalmers has always seemed very level headed to me. In my opinion he really had no choice but to jump now because I really do not think his stock could go up much higher if he played another year of college ball. I don't think that he will be an all-star in the NBA, but just his defense alone will be enough to keep him on an NBA roster. If he keeps improving offensively he can be a player in the league for a long time.
He was going to be a preseason all-america. He was going to be "the guy" in Lawrence. Maybe he didn't want that pressure, but he surely could have increased his stock, because he would surely have the opportunity.
