I've heard all about the "character questions" surrounding Beasley, but I don't understand it. All the kid did while at KState was work hard and produce. He had an amazing year (statistically even better than Durant a year ago).

You're going to tell me that he's more of a risk than Rose from Memphis?

I agree. I think the Bulls made a poor choice.

On another note. It was kind of sad and funny at the same time to see Chalmers and Arthur have to sit and wait their turn. And JR Giddens slid in at 30. A very interesting night, for sure.

It might have been sad and funny, but both the Rockets and the Heat got steals with Arthur and Chalmers that late.

The Heat with Chalmers, Wade, Marion, Beasley and Haslem in the starting lineup could easily go from the worst team in the league to a top 4 team in the Eastern Conference.

Chalmers is the perfect point to team with a playmaker like Wade. The Heat definitely stole this draft in getting the best player available as well as another potential starter.

Rose has a chance to be an excellent NBA difference maker, but he also carries far more risk than Beasley.

Yes beasley is a scorer, but IMO he is not a championship caliber player. He not serious about winning. He goofs off too much.

Where was Tennessee's Chris Lofton in the draft, how about Longar Longar, or Colorado's Roby kid?

With Lofton's cancer last year, I guess he wasn't able to get his strength up enough to convince a team to draft him. He'll get a chance to prove himself in summer ball.

Lofton is an undersized one trick pony. He's about as good of an NBA prospect as PJ.

Roby is the kind of guy that could refine his game, improve his shot, and maybe help a roster out deep off the bench in 3 or 4 years. He's simply not athletic or strong enough to play the 2 with a suspect shot.

Longar Longar is another guy that could potentially slip into the league in a couple of seasons as a deep bench guy if he's a legit 6'10". The problem is that he is still very raw, but is also something like 7 years removed from his "normal" high school class.

You don't become as well rounded of a player from a skill level standpoint by the age of 18 as he was without some serious dedication and hard work.

Oh, I would definitely agree, but those two were looking for big, guaranteed money. Arthur will get guaranteed $$, but not what he was expecting.

I assume that Chalmers will make the Heat's roster, but nothing is guaranteed. I think his head ballooned a little much after making "the shot"

I disagree, Chalmers has always seemed very level headed to me. In my opinion he really had no choice but to jump now because I really do not think his stock could go up much higher if he played another year of college ball. I don't think that he will be an all-star in the NBA, but just his defense alone will be enough to keep him on an NBA roster. If he keeps improving offensively he can be a player in the league for a long time.

as far as his stock goes you would have to look at the class of guards that will be (or presumably) entering the draft next year.

I figure Sherron Collins and Ty Lawson will be jumping. Those 2 would get picked over Mario. Other than them I cant think of anybody but im sure theres more.

the problem with Chalmbers is i dont think hes a true PG, but in the NBA hes too short to play Shooting guard, he is one of those tweener guys. I would be a little surprised if he is a starter in the NBA.
