    1. When was the last time we had a player, who could dribble penetrate and finish with stud duck power? Well, maybe never. I saw a man-machine today and I could not believe my eyes.

This guy is 6-6, 220 and all man. He is quick and powerful. He went left and he went right. It did not matter. No one could stop him one on one. His ball handling skills were so damn impressive, when compared to last year.

This same guy was shooting spot up jumpers and pull up jumpers from 16'-18' and they were going in the hole.

    He was an absolute monster.

There was a transformation going on right before my very eyes.

    His name is Ramon Clemente.

I know. I know. You are wondering about hyperbole. Ask Cowboy. There is none on this very day.

    2. Reggie Chamberlain can flat out play. He is in excellent shape. He is very clever with the ball. Some of his no look passes are hand breakers and knee bucklers. Plus, he is a very fine shot.

    3. So far, Murry and Kyles have not impressed with their outside shot. Clearly, Kyles is very athletic. He has a long stride, which enables him to really eat up the floor.

    4. Kerry said Garrett's weight as of today is 236#. Garrett had a little trouble finishing today. We will have to wait and see.

    5. EO looks much more comfortable, since I saw him last. I lost count of the blocks. I am not sure how the refs will call the body contact.

He took a 12' shot. I hope a video of it does not show up on U-Tube.

    6. Remeber Craig Steven? Well, his little brother was there. He did not play, even though he wanted to play. Without even seeing him play, I can safely report the game is way above his head.

    7. The point guard problem is fixed as they say in the south. Actually, the problem is solved.

    8. Play was much less ragged than the last time I saw them play.

    9. Reggie Plano was not there. I was very disappointed.

    10. JT was an instructor for the camp. I watched him on the floor, when he was instructing the young boys. Damn, he has a nice frame.

    JT is a wild card.

    11. Mantas said he will start playing in mid-August. He looked fit.

    12. Rap music was wired into the sound system for the entire time I was there. For fear of offending, I will not tell you what I thought about it.

    13. Wendell was there. This will sound harsh. He could just not play with the other guards. He did make one really nice drive in traffic to the basket, but it was his only eye catching play.

    14. Aaron, Graham, A.J. and Mantas did not play.

When the season begins, some opposing coaches are in for a rude awakening by Ramon Clemente. What they see on last year's game film is not what they are going to get this year.

Last year, I was not particularly a big Clemente fan. I have changed my tune. He just is not the same player. Virtually all big men will not be able to guard him on the dribble. I wish all of you could have seen, what I saw today.

I was there today (my 3rd time) and I agree with just about everything you say with the exception of TM. I thought he was fantastic. He seems to glide down court and all of a sudden there is this burst of energy that leaves who ever is guarding him with broken ankles. I agree EO is going to be hard for the valley to score on him inside, he needs to improve his offense. He has good moves but the ball never seems to drop for him.

As much as I would love to believe you concerning Ramon, I'll believe it when I see him actually do that in a game. A game where the opponent actually provides structured, double teaming, switching defenses by athletic big men. If he can do this then, I'll be sold. I mean, who was really going to stop him today?

I have to back up what Ricky said. RC was the stud on the floor today . He was beating anyone who was guarding him, even PJ was having a problem. RC improved his range as Ricky said that means his fake is much more effective

You could say that Ramon is just coming into his own! :good:

Ramon Clemente (10) F - Junior: Led WSU in rebounding at 7.9 boards per game, and is tied with JT Durley for the returnee with the highest scoring average at 7.0

Hmmm, you don't have to specifically say something about the rap music to clearly express how you feel. What? Would you have rather the guys play with Garth Brooks wired in? Or how about the Backstreet Boys? Or better yet, nothing epitomizes basketball in musical terms than getting down and dirty to Hannah Montana.

They're playing you're not - wear ear muffs next time.

By the way, nice report. Keep up the good work.

Truly appreciate the pick up game reports. Can't wait to see RC in a game with stud duck power.

Nice report! Even the time I went to pickup on the 12th, Ramon was hitting jump shots. I totally believe that he could have played like this today. I think any improvement in his ball handling will totally be in his advantage since hopefully a majority of his time will be spent at the 4 this year.

I agree with sf8, I've seen Toure drop quite a few shots in the few times I've watched him play so far.

I've really been impressed with what I've seen out of him so far. There are many similarities to PJ, but TM's jumper is much more fluid.

                        RDR,
We are on the same page of the hymn book concerning the music selection. Some of the stuff kids listen to is beyond belief.
Thank you for the fine report. 8)

Our parents said the same thing about the music we listened to. At least you could understand the lyrics back then -- now most of it is just noise. JMO
