Can't he just remain on the team as a non-scholarship player?

Why would he remain on the team as a non-scholarship player when he can trfr somewhere (probably a lower level) and get his degree with no loans?

Marshall said of Preadom's leaving: "It looks like it". Put that together with Preadom not working out with the team and it creates the appearance that WP is no longer interested in finishing his career at WSU. That's kinda sad, but he wasn't going to be much more than a practice player next year. Can't blame him for not wanting to finish his college career that way.

Marshall has also said he is looking for a transfer. He's basically given up on signing another Fr or a JuCo for next season - there aren't any left where there's a mutual interest. Unless there's an "Ellis-type" who shows up really late, signing another player for next year isn't looking promising.

There may be a scholarship available for Preadom next year. It's possible Preadom would rather play in another program where he could have more impact than he can anticipate at WSU.

It's pretty obvious that a scholarship for Preadom was "Plan B". I can't blame Marshall for making that decision and I can't blame WP for not wanting to continue at WSU in that situation.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

        Wendell

Wendell: Always a class act and certainly a contributor to WSU basketball. You are appreciated and I am certain that you will find much success in your life.

I stand among many who have tremendous pride that Wendell Preadom devoted three years to this program.

        Best wishes. :)

          Re:

In just more than 12 months since Turgeon left, we now have just two Turgeon signed players on the roster (Durley and Hatch). Talk about turnover . . .

Who knows what to expect next year with this many guys who we've never even seen before. One thing is for certain, it will be interesting and exciting.

I am not celebrating WP's departure.

Awhile back, I reiterated my "bus ticket comment" (from two years ago)concerning Wendell. For which, the criticizers came unglued and the crucifixion began. Then, when ShockRef said it, the same criticizers didn't say a word.

In the end, my analysis was right. I am celebrating rubbing the criticizers noses in it.

That's not completely right, Ramon committed to Turgeon before he left and Marshall went to him to make sure he still wanted to come.

He said Turgeon "signed" players. In which case he's correct.

                        Preadom

Somewhere in the past 2-3 days in another thread or in the Eagle, someone said that he had enrolled at Newman here in Wichita. I'm sure that has to be verified though.

Get the facts straight - I mentioned that "Gal may have earned a bus ticket out of town" for his play late this year at NAU and Drake.

I don't think that has been said on Shockernet. Newman has been speculated as a good alternative for him.

I think Newman would be a good fit. We all know WP probably isn't going to go out and score 15 ppg, no matter what level it is, because that really isn't his style. He has good work ethic, is a great defender, and will get to the rack. My only problem with Newman would be the money. They don't give much for scholly money and it is quite expensive. While he probably has no student loans now, would you want to play basketball for one year and pay quite a bit.

I was aware your bus involved Gal. Same comment, different kid.

Interesting how the same comment can be seen as irate and not irate depending upon who delivers the same comment. Some might call that hypocritical.
