SO is long gone. When I watch THE GAME of Shocker hoops---I am the 1st to admit. FSF is too offensive minded. Jamie Thompson and Dave Leach were consistant and lights out shooters, especially from the corner. Aubrey Sherrod was a "lights out" pure shooter. Here is GOOD NEWS. We have some Shooters and Scorers coming soon at the Chuck. U LIKE?Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Despite the past years lack of success, it was better he left town. He needed to leave and get away from certain members of a low budget 'posse'.
He also didn't make the best personal decisions after the S-16 success. He isn't the first to have trouble handling success of a major proportion at the ripe age of 20 years old. He won't be the last either.
Here's hoping he enjoys his senior year. 8)Above all, make the right call.

Sean
Sean was a major component of the Sweet 16 success. He brought many thrills to Shocker fans. His Junior year was not what he or the fans hoped and he obviously made some bad decisions. Decisions that young people sometimes make.
He was also a truly nice young man. Okay, he made mistakes. I've made enough mistakes in my life that I don't think I'm ready to cast the 1st stone, or any stone for that matter. I'm sure there are many out there who have done so well that they cannot accept mistakes, but not me.
The reports I've had indicate that he has matured a great deal in the past year and that he has made significant improvements both on the court and in the classroom.
I truly hope to run into him again someday and when I do I'll be thrilled to shake his hand.
I simply hope Sean has a successful and very happy senior season to be followed by a successful and very happy life.

I hope he has a tremendous year, especially considering we don't play Wyoming this upcoming season.
As I said in one of the threads ASM posted, when Sean was good, he was beautiful, and when he fell, he fell hard. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

In summary:
Sean was an integral part of our success in 2006 (and we all thank him for it!)
Sean had a lackluster junior year (backed up by his statistics) FOR WHATEVER REASON.
Sean had been considering a move to Wyoming--perhaps even had a deal worked either right around the time Coach Turgeon announced his leaving, or a little before?
S.O. ultimately leaves citing 'personal reasons' (which are of course--personal)
HCGM may, OR may not have extended a welcoming hand to Sean when he arrived, and then again, the decision for Sean might have already been made by that time. It's likely we'll never know for sure (and frankly I don't care)
Bottom Line: Sean's gone. I thank him for what he did for us, and wish him nothing but success just as I wish pretty much ALL former Shocker players regardless of the circumstances of their departure. I will casually follow his season next year when I think of it.
We don't need him (and obviously didn't have him last year) anymore. We're loaded and ready for a new chapter of success!
