Ogirri's side of the story
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

Thanks for the find. Pretty bland, what you'd expect to be said.
Good luck to Sean. I both enjoyed his play and was frustrated by his play. I always looked forward to seeing him play, however."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

The article states:
"Fortunate and lucky … lucky that new Wichita State coach Greg Marshall and his staff didn’t show Ogirri any love when they replaced former Shocker coach Mark Turgeon when he left for Texas A&M following the 2006-07 season." What a bunch of bull.
To Sean's credit, I didn't see where he said that. He said “I made my decision to leave when Coach (Turgeon) left...The new coaching staff said I would play a lot, but I felt it was a little iffy. I just felt like I needed a fresh start.”
So where does the author get that Marshall and staff "didn't show Ogirrie any love." What a load of crock. And, of course, no mention of the personality problems on the team that year that could have attributed to Sean's decision to leave or the fact that he had a crappy playing year.
Well, I wish Sean every success. But I really hate for sports writers to write about Marshall that way. Sean didn't give Marshall a chance and it was Sean's decision to leave. This article makes it look like Marshall doesn't recognize "good" talent when he sees it because just look at all that Sean accomplished while at WSU, but Marshall didn't appreciate it. Again, what crock. I'm not placing the blame for this article on Sean -- he did say he had already made up his mind to leave when Turgeon left. I just don't appreciate the writer of the article.

He felt that getting a lot of playing time was "iffy" with the new WSU coaching staff? Not exactly brimming with confidence in his abilities. However, I do agree with him in his comments on his playing style. A lot of people were very frustrated with his playing style (or lack of), particularly in his last year here. I always felt he was doing exactly what the coaching staff wanted him to do or they would have sat him down.

He was a playmaker in high school and we only allowed him to be a shooter? Somebody tried to make an MVC point guard out of him and it wasn't successful. Whose fault does Sean think that was?
Good for Sean that he has some new fans to bs before it catches up with him. I think this was the laziest person to pass through Wichita in a long time.

Sean wasn't a cancer. And, yes, I got your referral to one version of the rumor that was going around during that season (others I heard had Sean as the victim; in fact, if all the rumors were to be believed, the team would of been in one massive orgy, coach included).
If you had any decorum, you wouldn't dredge up that crap again so it could be traded around for the 1,000th time by all the sewing-circle gossipers on this forum like some supposed-insider, street cred currency.
What the team needed last year was someone who could make big shots when it appeared that no one else was capable. Sean proved time and time again his Freshman and Sophomore year that he could be that man. That is a cure, not cancer. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.
