It can't be good. Wonder if they're phasing out sports except for high school coverage. Seminoff moved to the editorial side; no columnist since Lutz retired and now this.

Could it be the Eagle would explore the possibiity of a deal with WSU to simply piggyback on Paul's reporting for WSU.

if a sporting event ends any time after, say, 4:00 pm central, the eagle won't have a report the next day. what with wsu's move to the aac, that concerns me.

WSU's athletic department media face just got a lot more professional.

The Eagle isn't a Wichita paper any more anyway. Suellentrop was about the only thing left worth reading.

Good for GoShockers, bad for the Eagle. Whatever happened to Tony Adame? He seemed to be Sully's heir apparent.

I would not be surprised if Suellentrop's reports on WSU sports are still in the Eagle. The Eagle would just pay a per article price, instead of covering Suellentrop's entire salary.

People I'm acquainted with who are familiar with Eagle staff are reporting that the layoffs there are hitting a lot of the Eagle's better writers and reporters.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

The Eagle is looking to fill his position.

The Eagle still has an online presence to account for.

The paper paying for a report from a university mouthpiece is a pretty solid slap in the face of journalistic integrity. I don't think Sully is some slimy guy, but he's going to be getting paid by the university---he's going to write what makes the school look good, not necessarily everything that should be written about.
