For my bottom line, I just want Landry to be 100% in March. I see the pressure to do well in Maui as a potential threat to a 100% Landry in March. Coach might let him play and get hurt again. I don't want to miss the potential for FVV 2.0's 2nd year.Last edited by Mini-troll; August 2, 2017, 08:53 PM.

I think this team is vastly more capable of winning without Shamet, than that team was without FVV.
In other words FVV was much more vital than Landry.
Not taking anything away from Landry, but this team has more talent overall and FVV was the heart and soul."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

If by adding ourselves to the equation, the league has a improved chance via RPI, maybe we send 3? If we drop 3 games in Maui and then drop 2 more during conference play, by this logic we could be in. But, having a conservative approach to our new conference, I don't suspect we will only lose two games in conference play. I'd be thrilled though. If we let Landry heal slowly, to improve his abilities in March (aka not FVV), then we could lose a few in Maui (when he might not play). That puts added pressure to do better in our new league.

Hamstring injuries are known for long healing periods and for their tendency to be lingering injuries. If you go too early on a hamstring, you set yourself back weeks. The only way to tell if a hamstring has recovered is to ask the person with the injury. Fred tried to play through the injury when he was still hurting, but wouldn't admit it.
With a broken bone, doctors look at x-rays and tell the player and the coaching staff when the player is able to resume normal activity. It's a visible thing. The bone is either mended or it isn't.
Shamet has been through this before and he knows how to rehab it and how to stay in condition while he has limited use of the foot.
BTW, losing 3 in Maui is one of the least knowledgeable posts this board has seen in some time. I would call it stupid, but you might think I was calling you stupid, and I would never do that because that could get me banned.
If Shamet is either out of action or not at 100% and this team can't rally behind him and take 2 in Maui without him at 100%, then they REALLY won't like the practices following Maui. I'm not a proponent of Frankamp playing PG, but I'm convinced we can go 2-1 in Maui without Shamet. Frankamp can lead the team to that result. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

There is risk of re-injury in some 5th metatarsal fx's. The risk for re-injury is variable with proximal or distal injury locations, as well as disallowing proper healing. Pain is experienced a year after this type of fx. Damage to the ligaments, synovial joints, muscles, blood supply, and nerves are all factors in a persons ability to ball out like he all hope.
The increased amount of healing time for this injury suggests it may have been a Jones fx, which is far more severe. The possibility of re-injury is higher in this fx.
