The CBSsports.com article reported 12-16 weeks for a full recovery. Surgery on Monday, July 31.

12 Weeks would be October 23rd.

16 Weeks would be November 20th.

Most important thing is to get him back fully recovered and not rush it.

Is Samajae joining this year or next?

This year, but from what I know he hasn't been able to work out with the team at all this summer.

Well that kinda sucks. With a glass half full viewpoint, if samajae gets with the team soon, he will get a lot of practice work with the first team which could be extremely beneficial during the season. Could take a little pressure off of Connor.

This is a bummer! Glad they caught it early, so he'll be back sooner. Samajae should be with the team as of now. All he had to do was pass a summer class from juco and he'd be good.

Quite understandable. I'm sure many Shocker faithful feel the same way.

This blows. My only hope is that we are ultra patient with him. Unlike FVV's last year, I hope Shamet is himself in March.

We didn't need FVV in the first few games and it costed us 3 L's at a tourney and a hobbled-leg PG all year.

Crappiest thing about this is what our guard play looks like without him. CF, MM, and ZB around the perimeter will look very timid. C'MON SHAQ AND WILLIS! But seriously, we should be fine to use our bench for the first few games. I just hope he does not get set back.

Will Reaves be ready for early season minutes? That would allow CF to stay at the 2 spot.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Question as I'm trying to remember back to last time he had this injury. Did he choose to have surgery last time? For some reason I remember he didn't. If so will that speed his ability to recover? Just a thought, either way its better to happen in late July than October or later. Praying he heels fast.

He played 3 games (19.7 minutes/8.7 Ppg) to start the season and then got hurt and had surgery and then red shirted the rest of the year.

Conner/SHJ/Austin/CJ can handle it against them if he's not quite ready. Might actually be good for them to get a little experience.

Edit: To be very clear, I'm not AT ALL happy that Landry got injured. I am happy that it happened now and not later if it was bound to happen.
Sometimes stress fractures seem to be lurking inside guys, just waiting to happen when the wrong provocation occurs. So that may be what happened here, and if so, now rather than later is a good thing. Never is best, of course, but now is better than later.

No, no, no, this is my worst fear come true for this year. Hope it turns out different than last time with limited atrophy to re-hab back. Sure hope Austin Reaves is doing a lot better than we have spoke about on a triumphant recovery. I personally think we need them both this year (both can be special). Must admit that I would be worried without them both for a long stint this season. Samajae was the highest rated Juco point last year & could be needed a great deal from game one. Conner played alright at the position & could possibly do much better now that he has gained more confidence.
