This made me laugh.

KC Hunt or Rick Conn are Shockernet's version of Godwin's Law. As soon as one of them is mentioned then a thread is completely off the rails.

Gregg (obvious reasons, and he takes precedent over Ralph now that he has more wins and has led us to a new era)
Gene (National Champion coach. And there's a lot of story behind it....not to mention, not all those on Mt Rushmore are without their own flaws)
X Man (I would argue he's our biggest athlete to come out of the department
Mike Kennedy - (Man has given his life to every conceivable sport, probably even Quidditch at this point. He's the definition of a model Shocker)

Seems like we have plenty of options for Mount Shockmore. Our biggest probblem is getting a Mountain moved to the campus.

Good idea. And do it right. Perhaps keeping in mind that some day their might be the need to add some additonal statues.

As far as Gene Stephenson is concerned his statue should be in front of Eck Stadium. Unfortunately, with the acrimony that appears to exist between the WSU Athletic Department and the Stephenson Family that doesn't seem like it will happen anytime soon.

Back in the 60's, a comedian Vaughn Meader (I think) put together a LP vinyl that took politician's actual answers and then made up questions for those answers. One was, "Senator (Robert) Kennedy, as you stand here looking up at the carvings at Mt. Rushmore, what goes through your mind?" Senator Kennedy said, "I'd like to be a part of that."
