I hope they offer some of the local brews. Although some of the craft crowd has gotten ridiculous. Manbun Neckbeard Hipster IPA **** I could do without.

      Beer.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Couple weeks ago we went singin in ICT. I'm allergic to barley so sometimes I get off the stuff. This particular night I asked for a Blue Moon bottle. It's a wheat beer. They didn't have bottles but they had it on tap, so I went with that. At the end of the night I realized they were charging $4.50 for a glass. Seemed like Scottrade had a better deal.

Correct, neither are concessions stands. I am not a beer drinker so ill probably never buy a beer at CKA. I recognize some people would enjoy it and the revenue stream would be nice For WSU.

The revenue stream isn't as great as many think, but it is a revenue stream. Beer sales will help the bottom line, some. Giving the fans what they want is probably a more important factor.

People don't need beer to watch basketball, but many enjoy a beer or two. They will not get drunk drinking during a game. It can be a family atmosphere and adults can responsibly enjoy adult beverages. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.

$4.50 for Blue Moon pulls is not a bad deal. Depends on the glass size.

The NCAA has studied alcohol sales and found it not to be problematic.

If you are comcerned about drunks at the game, they are either already there, or you won't have the problem. People that are drunk at events drink before entering, or smuggle in booze for their pop. It is not, nor has it ever been economical to pay arena prices for the "luxury" of getting loaded.

At the end of the day, most people won't buy any beer at the game. Those that do will buy one or two. Only those determined to be offended, will.

Article about beer sales at SMU. They have streamlined the sales so income has increased since then.

Concession stands began selling alcohol in January at Moody Coliseum; SMU will expand sales to football games in the fall.

I am now a teetotaler but not an advocate for temperance, so I am all for this as long as it increases revenue and improves the fan experience. I don't believe we will see many, if any idiots as a result of this but you never know.

If the revenue stream isn't that much, if most people won't buy, then why do it? We had guys a few rows behind us in STL that may not have been drunk but had enough to drink to be dropping profanities every 5 seconds that really affected our enjoyment of the game. Imagine if you dropped your hard earned money for tix and SASO and had someone like that within earshot, that's not gonna make the game less enjoyable?

It may not be widespread but it just seems like selling out the ability for a family to enjoy the games for a few bucks. I know I'm in the minority, but I'll be disappointed if they do this. I guess that makes me determined to be offended.

This. Beer at a Blazers game is $11! It infuriates me to pay for one beer more than I'd pay for a 6-pak! But, I sometimes will have one with my sandwich pre-game. But never more than one. Anybody getting plastered on $11 a piece beers is a lottery winner.

This isn't unique to a beer drinking crowd. Most facilities have a service host for each section; notifying them usually results in improvement. I've actually been "upgraded" when complaining twice about the same fan; they chose to re-seat us rather than the rowdy group. I accepted!

All is well. I am making a run into CO tonight for a case of Full Sail Amber.

If the alcohol created the profanity, they drank before the game, maybe at the hotel bar, or at Chili's. You need wheelbarrows of money to get drunk at a sporting event. You also need time. I've had three beers at a basketball game once, two beers several times, and most often have one. Even if I had the money, I wouldn't have the time. The game is less than two hours, plus, every time you get up for a beer, you have to leave the arena, find the concession stand that sells the beer, wait in line, buy the beer, then return. Depending on the venue, beer sales stop at the beginning of the second half, or at the midway point in the period. There simply isn't time to get drunk and watch the game. If you are getting drunk at the venue, you are spending boatloads of money on beer and not in your seat long enough to watch the game. Plus, did I mention the time you spend in the restroom after drinking that much?

Lord knows we could have used beer at games during the 90's.

Beer at games won't be a problem.
