With respect to Devon Smith and Dominic Okon, if they were going to be promoted, they would have been promoted. Doesn't make them bad guys or bad at what they do. To the contrary they can be tremendous guys and awesome at what they do. Not everyone wants to "grab the brass ring." If they are enjoying what they do, in a stable situation with their families, fairly compensated, and their work is appreciated then they may be in the perfect position.

Steve DeMeo should get a look. He took what SF did at Northwest Florida and built on it. He's also been at UCF and is right in the prime American recruiting backyard.

Not only NO, but HELL NO!

I personally don't want the program associated with a buffoon like Ball no matter how talented his sons are. Besides, those kids don't even know what defense is.

If we want to get beat up on by the likes of Kentucky, I don't know that we need to pay that guy or his kids to do it. We can just sit Shamet next time.

There are 7 scholarships to fill and scouts that need done on an entire new conference worth of teams. Not exactly the time to be operating short-handed. Also not the time to knee-jerk in to a poor hire.

The list of applicants should be long and accomplished, though.
No doubt the this position will draw plenty of interested parties. Probably a big challenge just to sort them all out.

Any chance in heck that LeVelle Morton would be interested?
                        I know he's a HC now but...

There are exceptions, of course, such as when 3G just essentially hired Chris Jans back with the AHC title and when Keitha Adams hired her top assistant from UTEP, Ewa Laskowska, as her AHC at Wichita State. Of course both were in those same positions with those head coachs for multiple years.

For 3G to bring someone in as AHC he would have to have a very good relationship of trust and respect for that person over a number of years. About the only on I am aware of that might qualify for that would be Greg Heiar. Maybe their or others that would fit that mold but not sure who that would be.

Most likely his staff will add another AC and then we'll see if any of the current staff grow into the AHC role just as Chris Jans did with 3G and Ewa Laskoska did with Keitha Adams.
Very true. It would need to be a very exceptional hire to be AHC. I should have said a more up and comer verses very experienced.

I wonder if former UCF coach Donnie Jones is currently employed and if he'd be willing come aboard as an assistant?

Moton has been in the mix for several HC gigs and has a great future. Can't imagine the scenario he slides down that ladder unless it's a Jankovich HC-in-waiting scenario. In which case we could attract a number of more qualified and connected candidates. This will be a current assistant and/or former HC.

How am I the first to suggest Matt Brauer? I would love to see someone promoted internally and have Matty take over.
