Meaning in comparison to Dave Stalwarts theory of HCGM trying to seal up Chris Jans by upgraded Jans, I wonder if anything was done/said for Greg. Miscommunication, which lead to Dr. Evil. In other words, I was just playing with the theory and hypothetically speaking. Carry on!

He ain't going nowhere. He owes WSU a lot. His transgression at BG and Gregg pulling him back in better carry the day with Jans being here for awhile.

Personally I think Chris could do a lot better than New Mexico State. Not sure the WAC that NMS currently finds itself is all that attractive.

Can win immediately at a program that averages 5k fans and the last 2 years have produced the head coaches at UNLV and New Mexico. I would argue that that is about as good as a non-P5 assistant can expect and I would say it's way better than Bowling Green.

New Mexico State itself isn't bad. But the WAC is really hard to get too excited about. Last year they were ranked 26th among 31 conferences in both RPI and NPI.

17th in RPI and NPI in 2017 which shows how big of a leap they took in just one year. UMKC's Kareem Richardson has them on the rise and Grand Canyon will surely be better with being post-season eligible for the first time in their history next season. They could be better than the Valley next year.

Yeah, not sure what I was looking at for those numbers I posted. Still the WAC is just not that appealing to me but that kind of becomes a personal preference type a thing. If the the Shocks doe as well as we hope and beleive they can do next year you would think that would give AHCCJ a pretty good boost to his resume. But he has to do what he thinks is best for him and his family.

I suppose Heiar probably didn't like the move and took one of the offers he had after realizing Jans was still #1.

In other words, we probably already locked up Jans yesterday, with this offer in full view. I'm not worried.

Of course this is the way it went. Never occurred to me.

                        NM, NM ST....:uncomfortableness:

Interesting that Forbes was in the run for the NM job.

Losing both Heiar and Jans in the same off season could be costly. But that's the price of success.
To me that is the primary thing that differentiates a good coach from a great coach. That being, the ability to attract, train and promote assistant coaches.

I think it also allows Gregg to lobby for more money to keep his assistants in the fold. I would suspect from this point forward, we can start to play the "Chris Jan's Leaving?" thread every year and watch his offers get better and better with each deep run in the tourney.

Has anyone heard what CJ's salary as WSU AHC will be?

Apologies. Can't link from mobile for some reason. Jans one of two finalists.
