"Jerry Carino's preseason Associated Press Top 25 and All-America ballots" - NJ Hoops Vave

"Once again, I have New Jersey’s lone vote in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for men’s basketball. Below are my ballots for the preseason Top 25 and the preseason All-America team.
The poll comes out Nov. 1 and the All-American team is announced Nov. 6.
1, Michigan State (20-15)
2. Duke (28-9)
3. Wichita State (31-5)
4. Kansas (31-5)
5. Arizona (32-5)
6. Villanova (32-4)
7. North Carolina (33-7)
8. Kentucky (32-6)
9. Cincinnati (30-6)
10. Notre Dame (26-10)...
Three thoughts:
1. Michigan State is the clear favorite. Best player, best coach, and an explosive mix of experience and talent. I was surprised to see Duke ranked No. 1 in the coaches’ poll after last year’s frosh-heavy unit came up short. When in doubt, I give experience the edge in this sport — especially in a sight-unseen preseason poll.
2. I’m bullish on Wichita State as a Final Four team. Yes, I realize its two best players are sidelined by injuries right now, but I’m taking the long view here. The Shockers are loaded. I’m also very high on St. Mary’s. Like Wichita, the Gaels have a ton back, a winning tradition and a big-time star to carry the banner. They could be this year’s Gonzaga...."Last edited by WuShock Reaper; October 24, 2017, 04:11 PM.

Mr. T-Rank predicts a lot of losses just in general, 1976 -- the only team he has with fewer is Arizona with four, and Michigan State is at five along with WSU. Everyone else is expected to lose more often.
In practice, it would be pretty surprising (at least to me) if when conference tournament time comes only one team has as few as four losses.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."
