Not sure OU will fall much at all with their loss on the road to a good, but not great Alabama team and a win at home against #5 KU.

    • I say we move to #15 (+/-1) in the AP Poll tomorrow.

I'm thinkin' well move up just one spot. UNC should fall like a rock. We might pass Ohio St, but they are still in 2nd place in the Big 10. Don't think OU drops much if at all. Don't see a reason why we would pass St. Mary's, Gonzaga, and Texas Tech given who and where we played this week.

ShockTalk, what about WV? 2 losses to unranked teams has to drop them pretty hard, right? If Shox don't pass them, they won't be ahead by much.

Well, WV is just right in front of us. We did end up passing Ohio St, but I didn't see that big of leap for Auburn winning at Mizzou and beating LSU at home.
OU did stay right where they were.

    • Seth Davis (AP Voter) keeps the Shockers at #25, which he had last week. I think this will be our worst voter for the week.

      • With the 12th week of the college basketball season in the books, here’s what the AP Top 25 rankings might look like for Week 13.

        #14 - WICHITA STATE SHOCKERS, 17-4 - Last Week: 17
Wichita State will get a decent jump in the rankings after watching a few teams ahead of the Shockers lose in Week 12. Gregg Marshall and the Shockers have had a shaky start to their play in the American Athletic Conference but bounced back with wins against Tulsa and Central Florida, each by double digits, in Week 12.

        #13 Oklahoma Sooners
        #6 Cincinnati Bearcats

        • #19 on Osterman's ballot

#10 for Chris Dachille (he has Cincy at 4)

Dachille moved the Shox up 4 spots.

Osterman actually dropped WSU 2 spots. What the heck?

His rankings are as bad as his political offerings.

          ... No really, deuces.

              • This is a big week for us. 2 road wins against decent teams will do wonders for questions voters may have about us.

Agreed that this is a big week but we have just the 1 game on tap (Thursday @ Temple), followed by a weekend off and then @ Memphis early next week.

                  • #24 on Luke DeCock's ballot (up from 25 last week) and #15 on Jerry Carino's ballot (up from 16 last week).

Pacing to pick up just shy of 100 votes in the raw total for the week based on early returns.

                    • Possibly, we move up one spot, but would not be surprised if we stayed right where we are.

As long as we don't get jumped from someone like ... UK or something, I'm ok with it.

                    • Rick Bozich moves us up to 19 (from 20).

                        #19. Wichita State Shockers
                        Record: 17-4
                        Last week: 22

After a significant drop last week, Wichita State inches back up the rankings with home wins over UCF and Tulsa. The key for the Shockers moving forward is still on the defensive end of the floor, where they've had issues. Against UCF and Tulsa, though, both opponents scored well under 1.00 point per possession.

                        #9. Cincinnati Bearcats
                        Record: 19-2
                        Last week: 12

Since the KenPom era began in 2002, no team has finished with a better defensive efficiency than Cincinnati's current 83.9 points per 100 possessions mark. Unfortunately for the Bearcats, they're overshadowed by Virginia's record-setting defense (the Cavaliers are at 80.6 points/100 possessions).

#8 Cincinnati (last week #10): The Bearcats will take a 12-game winning streak into Wednesday's game against Houston. They're 8-0 in the AAC and at least two games ahead of everybody else in the league standings.

#19 Wichita State (last week #20): The Shockers' resume features three top-55 KenPom wins and zero sub-45 losses. They're tied in the loss column with Houston for second in the AAC standings.
