Not to hijack, but can we all agree thay the "Wizards" was a nad joke that has run its course and time to go back to the "Bullets" or just starybover if the PC DC crowd demands.

Alternatively, change the logo to an airbrushed van.

Oregon gets anything that want (and more) being Nike's baby. No doubt that has helped with their "cool factor", something 95% of schools won't be able to replicate.

3G's may be a Nike man, but if he's sees better threads (and better $$$) flowing through, that would definitely help ease the transition.

Not sure how that look would work for Markis McDuffie though.
I played against Darnell in HS; I swear one of his thighs was as big as BOTH mine! When he jumped to shoot, and I jumped (presumably to block his shot) I used to think, "I wonder if my hand at his belly is throwing off his shot?"

Not always the case, but many times AAU coaches with Nike, Adidas or UA deals steer recruits to programs with the same deals.

Well, WSU could be in worse company than UCLA, Norte Dame, Wisconsin, etc.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume you meant "bad joke" and that your spell correction history just outed you.

I wouldn't mind seeing the boys in shorts like these

Of course, even with a shorter uniform short a very high number of today's players were compression shorts and leggings so you don't quite get the Valentine effect.

Indeed. Too long of a post for mobile.

Interestingly trying to type "nads" autocorrects to "mass." Draw your own conclusions there.

                      • I vaguely remember when 3G got here one of the first things I noticed about Winthrop was that they were a New Balance team. I thought that was strange and I remember a question being asked of him about shoes and contracts and I remember him saying that it was up to the players. I know there's been another comment thrown at that he didn't care what they wore as long as they were Nikes, but I really think this is a different comment. I could also be misremembering.

                        • One thing I am really hoping for out of a comprehensive uniform design for WSU is the incorporation of the stylized wheat kernel design featured on the new campus signage.

                            Those are very well-done, design-wise.

I can't stop looking at this picture. Boy does he have some legs on him! I know our boys have the upper body but its hard to tell if they have the lower body. My 2nd cousin, she's a real son of a ***** but she means well, she's a real smart gal, knows a lot about everything is one of them physical therapists and he says that its easier to recover from an injury if you have the lower body more so than if you have the upper body. Men just seemed more manly back in the day, I wonder what happened?

Darnell Valentine had some god given physcial gifts that not very many are blessed with. Clearly he worked hard to develop those gifts but he had a head start on most of us.

Warren (Armstrong) Jabali was perhaps the closest any Shocker was to Darnell Valentine in terms of a physical specimen. Kelly Pete was a stud too, although at the time Kelly played players focused on most exclusively on their lower body and were discouraged from doing too much develop of their upper bodies thinking that if they became muscle bound it negatively impact their games. Athletic training has come a long, long ways since then. I suspect there are more than few guys with very powerful legs but between the long shorts, compression pants and leggings they just don't stand out as much as they did when those thighs were on full display.
